3:42pm MIE will be quietly hopeful of chasing the total down even on a surface that is seemingly getting slower. Warriorz were asked to bat and started strongly, even if not explosively. Charles and Kohler-Cadmore batted steadily for a 112-run opening stand. Charles did the big-hitting in that time. Once he fell, though, TKC followed suit. Raza and Rew did manage to get a few big hits away but MIE gave little away towards the end. And in that lies the clue about how Warriorz's bowlers should approach the chase - lots of slower balls and cutters. Will they be able to get first points on the table? Find out shortly.
Johnson Charles: "Very dry and slow surface. Took time to get in, we have a decent score on the board. I am a power-hitter, but today proved difficult because of a dry pitch. They call us the brothers of destruction, we try and take positive energy from each other and put the team in good position. Our bowlers have been watching, they have it figured out. Slow pitch, so we should defend the total. Sometimes you start well, sometimes you don't. Main thing is everyone is looking to feed off the positive energy."
