Will Jacks stood tall, falling six short of what would have been his maiden ODI ton. Saim Hain, one of the four debutants today, kept his composure scoring 89 off 82. Ben Duckett also stroked a sprightly 48. England had raced away to 44 for 0 off the first four overs, but Ireland pulled things back a bit. George Dockrell was the pick of the Irish bowlers picking 3 for 43 off eight overs, while Craig Young returned 2 for 38 off his seven.
