9:35pm And so, courtesy of David's belligerent 21-ball 48, MI New York get to 155, which is certainly a competitive total on a pitch that has not been very conducive to stroke-play. David's knock, though, was the aberration in an innings that stuttered and stumbled at various stages. Pooran scratched around for 38 but there was not a lot otherwise, with their inexperienced top-order, in particular, being blown away inside the powerplay.

The Knight Riders, meanwhile, were very good for the first 15 overs and it looked like they would restrict MINY to a sub-140 total. Towards the end, though, they lost the plot, shipping 62 runs in the final five overs. Their spinners Narine and Zampa were brilliant but their death-bowling left plenty to be desired. By virtue of that, they now have to chase a bigger score than it seemed at one point. They have enough firepower to get past the finish line, although the last few overs have just given MINY a sniff. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!

Tim David: (On his secret) Gave myself a bit of a chance again tonight. We were losing wickets and could not get momentum. (Conversations with Pollard) It was about wrestling the momentum back. The spinners were bowling nicely. It was about soaking pressure and then pulling the trigger at the right time. Could have gone a little quicker, to be honest. Tried to get as much strike but had to assess the risk - could not get out at that stage. You have to trust yourself to play the right strokes.

Russell to David, 1 bye, a bye to end the innings - a bit of an anti-climax really! Short and outside off stump. David swishes at it and misses. Boult calls him through for a bye and they complete it because the keeper misses his shy at the batter's end

Russell to David, SIX, pumped into the stands again! Lands just short of a yorker outside off and that is fodder for David. Another clean swing through the line and the ball travels over long on!
