7:06pm Wow, what a batting display. 121 runs came off the final ten overs and it has taken the Super Giants up to 190. de Kock was front and centre, registering his first fifty this season and finishing with 83 off 51. Smuts played his part too, scoring 52 off 39 and setting the foundation for Klaasen to tee off right at the end. 65 runs came off the last five, and that might have just taken the Super Giants to a score that is above-par.
As for the Royals, well, they will not be pleased with how they bowled, especially at the back end. Their ploy of bowling slower balls and offering width became too predictable and just did not work out, with all the batters cashing in. They now have a stiff target to hunt down, and while they have the firepower to do so, this is going to be a stiff run-chase. Join us in a bit for the second innings!
Ngidi to bowl the final over. Can DSG get up to 180?
