Spin was the way again for Brave in their last home game of the competition. All of Adams, Tryon and Moore kept a check on the scoring and made Bates move a lot around in the crease. But they returned only one wicket apiece. Will 131 prove a bit too many for Brave on a track that is significantly slow and aiding spin? We'll find that out shortly
3:35pm Invincibles would think they have enough on a track that is aiding spin, and it is all down to Bates' half-century. Scratchy for a large part but the New Zealand veteran stuck to it and ensured the runs kept flowing. She was moving all around her crease as she tried to exploit the gaps in the field. She added a couple of fifty-run stands - first with Kapp and then with Scholfield, who really injected a lot of momentum into the back end of the innings.
Paige Scholfield: "It was about going out there and creating partnerships and we did that well. Bates batted really well and exploited the gaps. My plan was to ideally get Suzie on strike but if it was in my slot I was going to go for it. The slower balls would be good on it. The pitch as well as the outfield is quite slow."
