5.30pm: I'm off for a lie-down. England's 267 for 3 is the fifth-highest innings score in men's T20Is, and the second-highest in a match between full members. Here's the list in question. It was set up by Phil Salt and Jos Buttler, who put on 117 for the first wicket in 9.5 overs... but England only accelerated from there. Jacks lashed 24 off 9 from No. 3 while Salt raced to a 48-ball hundred, his second in a row and one hell of a response to going unsold in the IPL auction earlier today. And then Livingstone went beserk at the death to leave West Indies needing a record chase to prevent this series going into a decider on Thursday. Alan will be here shortly for the second innings.

"The platform was set by the two lads at the top... to get back-to-back hundreds in T20 internationals is an unbelievable effort, so fair play to Salty," Livingstone says, speaking to Samuel Badree. "He's threatened to do it for a long time. He has incredible talent. It's really nice for him to be able to get us off to a flyer... It's a nice pitch. It does take a couple of balls to get used to it. The boundaries are pretty small."

4
Holder to Livingstone, FOUR, skews away through third man for four via the outside edge! Not too much wrong with the delivery from Holder, a yorker in the off-stump channel. But they all count!
19.6
1w
Holder to Livingstone, 1 wide, sprayed wide outside off... too wide
19.5
4
Holder to Livingstone, FOUR, full toss, hauled away past square leg to bring up a 20-ball half-century! Somehow only Livingstone's second 50-plus score in his 37-match T20I career, and his first since smashing Pakistan all over Trent Bridge back in 2021
19.4
1
Holder to Brook, 1 run, offcutter outside off, miscued into the covers
19.3
2
Holder to Brook, 2 runs, dipping yorker, worked into the vacant acreage between midwicket and long-on and they race back for two
19.2
1
Holder to Livingstone, 1 run, short outside off, slapped down to long-off
19.1
4
Holder to Livingstone, FOUR, low full toss outside off stump, crunched over extra cover for four! There was a man on the cover rope, but he never stood a chance

Holder is back into the firing line.

250 up for England with one over to spare. This has been utter carnage. So much for the slow pitch in Tarouba...!

2
Russell to Brook, 2 runs, another yorker from around the wicket, slapped down to long-off... where Forde isn't alert to the possibility of a second run, allowing Brook and Livingstone to scamper back
18.5
1
Russell to Livingstone, 1 run, slaps the yorker down to long-off. Russell has done well here, aiming for the yorker box and generally finding it
18.4
1
Russell to Brook, 1 run, leans across looking to scoop, and a thick outside edge balloons up into the off side for a single

Neal: "Hitman Harry, do your thing." -- Brook in at No. 5.

Standing ovation for Salt as he walks off with England's highest men's T20I innings to his name, and a second consecutive hundred.

18.3
W
Russell to Salt, OUT, nutmugged by the yorker! Russell finds his radar, and nails the leg-stump yorker with just a hint of tail. Salt gets low looking to slog-sweep him over the leg side, but it dips late, through his legs and under his back pad to crash into the stumps

PD Salt b Russell 119 (80m 57b 7x4 10x6) SR: 208.77

Julian: "This is getting up to what would be a decent 50 over score. Road or not, Windies are going to have to do something amazing to chase this down."

18.2
1
Russell to Livingstone, 1 run, slapped out into the off side to get Salt back on strike
18.1
2
Russell to Livingstone, 2 runs, full one angled across him, flogged down to wide long-on for a couple

This is now England's highest score in a men's T20I

18.1
5w
Russell to Livingstone, 5 wides, around the wicket, Livingstone jumps outside off stump so Russell looks to rip out his leg stump... but it's a fraction off-line, and Pooran can't fling himself across to cut it off

END OF OVER:
18 | 20 Runs | ENG: 238/2 | RR: 13.22

  • Phil Salt119 (56b)
  • Liam Livingstone37 (14b)
  • Matthew Forde3-0-54-0
  • Gudakesh Motie4-0-55-0

Randy: "Poor Matthew Forde, I hope he recovers in the next game and well done to Phil Salt." -- Good experience for him!

17.6
0
Forde to Salt, no run, yorker, dug out via the toe end. Two dots to finish... but still 20 off it!
17.5
0
Forde to Salt, no run, low full toss outside off, Salt can't lay bat on it

Praveen: "This looks like a road and windies have a garage full of race cars. Expect a good chase."

17.4
1
Forde to Livingstone, 1 run, misses his yorker, but Livingstone's slap only skews out to long-off this time
17.3
6
Forde to Livingstone, SIX, wide yorker, not much wrong with this one... but it still flies away over cover for six! Reaches for it, and slices over the off side for a scarcely believable six
17.2
6
Forde to Livingstone, SIX, six more, don't bowl there! 109kph offcutter, sits up nicely from just short of a good length, and Livingstone monsters it over midwicket. Easy pickings for a man with his power
17.1
6
Forde to Livingstone, SIX, comes down with snow on it! More elevation than distance from Livingstone as Forde's attempted yorker ends up in the slot, but it's got just enough on it to clear long-on
17.1
1w
Forde to Livingstone, 1 wide, sprayed wide outside off stump, far too wide

Three overs left, how many can England manage? 250 is in their sights...

241 is England's record total in men's T20Is. They should set a new benchmark.

  • Liam Livingstone18 (10b)

0 for 55 for Motie... but most of the figures look ugly!

16.6
6
Motie to Salt, SIX, speared in halfway down, Salt rocks back and crunches the half-tracker over midwicket, onto the grass bank!
