12:43pm Wow, that exceptional Campher ton has dragged Ireland to 286, which considering they were 70-5 at one stage, is quite a remarkable achievement. Dockrell, too, played his role, stitching together a 136-run stand with Campher and allowing him the time to get settled at the crease. Adair, Delany and Little at the end also played their parts, helping Ireland maximise the death overs and finish with what looks like a very competitive total.
Scotland, on the other hand, would not be very happy with how they let Ireland off the hook. They seemed to lack penetration in the middle overs and once Campher and Dockrell set out their stall, the Scotland bowlers struggled. They could not curb the run-flow at the end either, and that has meant they now have to hunt down 287. Scotland's decision-making also left a bit to be desired, with McMullen, who picked up a five-wicket haul and bowled superbly, only bowling seven overs and not bowling at all during the middle overs.
Before a ball had been bowled today, Scotland would have taken 286-8. But after reducing Ireland to 70-5, they will feel they missed out on an opportunity to restrict them to a smaller score. Do join Danyal in half an hour or so for the run-chase!
George Dockrell: (On Campher) It was an incredible knock. For him to come in, with us in trouble, it was pretty special. He missed out last game and today he showed the quality player he is. We just wanted to bat a bit of time. I enjoy batting with him (Campher). We knew if we could bat 15-20 overs, we could set a platform. (On his own form) Still battling with myself a little bit. Missed out at the death there but happy because it was probably the right way to play it. We did a lot of hard work after our start. We have to bowl well to defend this total. We have runs on the board. The pitch was offering a bit when you hit good lengths. If we can stay disciplined, we can defend this.
