New Zealand have been superb in keeping Pakistan to a paltry 134/8, which is not an imposing score by any means. They would have at least liked 170 here. Babar Azam looked out of sync, and his timing was all over the place in an uncharacteristically erratic innings. Pakistan got off to a poor start as debutant Haseebullah Khan got out without troubling the scorers, trying to charge Southee without really taking a good look at the surface. Rizwan and Fakhar carried out some rebuilding work and built a nice partnership, but both lost their wickets at the wrong time, and New Zealand were right back on top. Abbas Afridi clubbed Matt Henry for two sixes in the penultimate over to add little bit of impetus to the innings towards the end. I'll be back with you in a few minutes

1
Ferguson to Abbas Afridi, 1 run, Well-disguised slow back of a length ball, went past his swinging bat to the keeper and they sneak a bye
19.5
2lb
Ferguson to Abbas Afridi, 2 leg byes, sharp hard length ball and gets some inward seam movement off the deck, cramped for room, gets no bat on it and it flutters away to deep third, Henry too far in front of stumps and can't catch the throw cleanly
19.4
1
Ferguson to Usama Mir, 1 run, Nails a perfect yorker dipping in on middle, shuffles across and paddles it but the execution is not quite perfect
19.3
W
Ferguson to Sahibzada Farhan, OUT, Stupendous catch at deep midwicket, ball was dying on him and he swooped like a shooting star to take a wonderful tumling catch. Fuller delivery and he tries to swings but but doesn't control his bat and Phillips snags this in the deep with a superb effort

6
Henry to Abbas Afridi, SIX, And another, clubs it over deep cover for a flat six, gets down low to it and deposits it into the grass banks. That is exactly what Pakistan needed to scrap their way to a somewhat respectable score
18.5
0
Henry to Abbas Afridi, no run, Flails at thin air
18.4
2
Henry to Abbas Afridi, 2 runs, goes full and offers some width, whisks it away past point and adds two more giddy sprinting runs
18.3
6
Henry to Abbas Afridi, SIX, imperiously swung down the ground to get off the mark, that is some shot, opens his account in some style, that reminds me of Umar Gul
18.2
W
Henry to Shaheen Shah Afridi, OUT, Short of a length, curving away outside off, chipped straight to Rachin Ravindra who the only fielder patrolling the cover region and he snaffles it down his throat with his shades on, cool catch by a cool man. Afridi tried to inject some impetus to the innings but it's been tough going because the bowling has been just too good and precise

Shaheen Shah Afridi c Ravindra b Henry 1 (9m 6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 16.66

Southee to Sahibzada Farhan, 1 run, pace off delivery, bottom-hand shovel to deep midwicket for a run
17.4
6
Southee to Sahibzada Farhan, SIX, Splendid hit! Good length wide of off, holds his stance and clatters it with impeccable timing over cover for a boundary, much needed for Pakistan, oh, that went for six, flat six
17.3
0
Southee to Sahibzada Farhan, no run, Does not give him an easy one for such shenanigans, dropped short and off-cutter moves away late wide of off, tries some improvisation but it didn't come off

Southee to Shaheen Shah Afridi, 1 run, This time he manages to connect but haven't middle it. Touch short and just inside the tramline on off, slapped away to sweeper
