Charlie Dean: There's a bit on offer for the spinners and seamers. It's a fairly good wicket with a bit of sideways movement. (Dimesnions) The boundary isn't massive, not a fan as a spinner but gotta work with it. Know batters will target it. We just focus on bowling the best ball. We knew they'd come hard at the top given they have a top-heavy order but Filer and Bell bowled well early on and Ecclestone took those key wickets and made it easier to go strike. Was a team effort, knew we'd get the benefits if we stayed together. Total is on the lower side and we want to play positive cricket. It can be tricky but, nah, we should have this
3:13pm England's spinners have skittled out NZ on a slowish pitch but none too bad. NZ got off to a great start as Bates dined out on Bell erring looking for swing. But her stay was short because Filer, who was on, nipping one back sharply to knock over the stumps. Plimmer was positive and hit six fours in her 29, but fell victim to a freak run out when Amelia Kerr drove a full ball into Plimmer's pads that deflected straight to midwicket. England brought on their spinners, who ripped it and kept the stumps into play to slice through the middle order. Halliday was the only source of resistance from NZ and if it weren't for her 51, Dean and Ecclestone would have skittled the visitors for a lot less.
