1.45pm: Another collapse, another trial against spin... and another below-par effort from NZ. They looked to have patched up the worst of it when Amelia Kerr and Maddy Green were going nicely, but following a fifty stand they lost their last seven wickets for 27 runs. Sophie Ecclestone was at the heart of it for England, pocketing her second ODI five-for; the spinners this time sharing eight wickets, after divvying up seven between them at Chester-le-Street. England's batters will doubtless look to impose themselves when it comes around to their chase. Shashank will be back for that in half an hour or so
Here are the thoughts of Charlie Dean at halfway: "There's bits in it for the bowlers, looked tricky to start. We were great up top, Kate Cross was brilliant with her consistency and sets the tone. [Ecclestone] She's iust so good, the best in the world. Mixes up her pace so well, she's challenged herself to stay patient. She gets frustrated when she goes for one, I'm like 'It's one run, it's okay!' We talk about how the pitch is playing, what's our best ball. Usually top of the stumps, keep it in play, very boring. [Batting] It was a complete performance the last game so hopefully we can replicate that."

"Ecclestone goes ahead of the great Anya Shrubsole in England all-time ODI wicket-takers." That's good stattage, RobJ
