South Africa got off to a blistering start but things went downhill after the first powerplay as Salman Ali Agha started the rot with his canny off-spin, picking up four wickets. From there, Saim Ayub and Abrar Ahmed took over, extracting every bit of spin on offer as South Africa struggled to build momentum and succumbed to sustained pressure, losing wickets at regular intervals. Heinrich Klaasen held the innings together with a brilliant 86; the story could have been different had he stayed till the end. With a long tail and not many all-rounders in the line-up, South Africa lacked the muscle in the end to post a competitive total. But they could still make a match of this score by striking early and creating panic upfront. Pakistan, on the other hand, will be pleased with their performance in the first half. They seem more at home in this format and have form on their side. The chase begins in about 30 minutes. Stay tuned!

Ummer: "I reckon score of 250 will be tough ask for Pakistan batters. It will be litmus test for Pak batters today."
