12:55pm A bits-and-pieces innings, which, to a large extent, was salvaged by a stellar eighth-wicket partnership between Mahmudullah and Tanzim. They came together when Bangladesh were tottering and ensured that they got past 200. Neither, though, could bat through the innings, meaning that Bangladesh ultimately fell well short of the 250-mark, which when these two were going all guns blazing, seemed a real possibility. Tanzid was the other notable contributor with the bat for the visitors.

As for the hosts, they will be pleased with their efforts. Seales set it up with a sensational powerplay display and returned to remove Mahmudullah. Motie did his bit through the middle overs, with each of their bowlers getting themselves on the board. The hosts will feel they can chase this down comfortably, but Bangladesh, because they have 225-plus on the board, might feel they could ruffle a few feathers with early wickets. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Gudakesh Motie: (On his bowling) It was pretty good for me. Was trying to hit my length and trying to take the pace off. (On the pitch) It was kind of two-paced, so was trying to take pace off and it worked for me. Previously, I was bowling too fast. Thanks to James, our bowling coach, we have been working on it (changing the pace and slowing it up). 300 is a par score (here), getting them out under 300…we need a good start from our openers and hopefully we can take it from there.

Shepherd to Shoriful Islam, OUT, that will be that! Shoriful's fun is over, and Bangladesh have been bundled out for 227! Slower delivery into the track outside off. Shoriful, who was intent on smashing this into next week, hares down the track and throws the plumbing at it. Loses shape completely, though, and Motie, stationed just outside the ring in the mid off region, does the rest!

Shepherd to Shoriful Islam, SIX, in the air, and into the crowd! Banged in short outside off. Sits up nicely for Shoriful and he gives it all he has, smearing it over deep mid wicket!

Shepherd to Shoriful Islam, no run, into the blockhole outside off. Shoriful backs away and backs away too much in the end. Cannot reach the ball

Shepherd to Shoriful Islam, FOUR, four more! Length outside off. Shoriful clears his front leg and swings like a rusty gate. Gets a thick outside edge that flies over wide slip!

Shepherd to Shoriful Islam, FOUR, over the top. Just! Dug into the track outside off. Shoriful, sitting deep in his crease, gives it the lot and muscles it over mid off!

Seales to Nahid Rana, no run, full on off. Rana watches it all the way onto his bat and defends. Gets a moutful from Seales too. Pretty sure he is not appreciating his defensive stroke

Seales to Nahid Rana, no run, oh dear! Hard length, slanting into middle and leg. Rana takes his eyes off it completely and hopes that he survives. The ball hits the bat handle while he is facing the keeper and fortunately for him, the ball falls into safety behind the stumps

Seales to Nahid Rana, no run, another yorker, honing into off stump. Rana jams his bat down in time and keeps it out

Seales to Nahid Rana, FOUR, streaky! Seales goes for the double-bluff and zips this into the blockhole just outside off. Rana, without moving his feet, hangs his bat out and the ball rolls off the inside edge past his stumps and the keeper!

Short square leg in place. Short ball coming?
