0.4 banged in halfway down, Salt pulls... and picks out deep square leg! Straight down the throat. Short ball, gets up well. Salt had to fetch it from outside off stump and he hoicked cross-batted, and couldn't get enough connection to clear Washington on the rope. Arshdeep gets Salt early again 6/1
3.1 spooned up to point on the reverse! Washington strikes with his first ball in front of his home crowd. Duckett is usually so good on the reverse-sweep, and gets in position early. But he slaps this hard into his pad, and it loops up into the off side. Jurel hardly had to move. Duckett walks off looking distraught. 26/2
9.3 straight down deep midwicket's throat! Deep in his crease, playing on the back foot. Not great connection, hitting the bat near the splice, and a straightforward catch for Tilak five yards off the rope. England in trouble against spin again! 77/4

6.3 through him! Brook is deceived by Varun and can only smile in response. Out of the back of the hand, sneaking through the gap between inside edge and pad and kissing the top of off stump. Extra bounce, Brook was trying to get to the pitch with a lunge down but was done in the flight. Varun glares at Brook, who had no idea which way that was spinning. Smog or no smog, Varun is too good. 59/3
11.1 Pulled... straight to deep backward square leg! Another England batter falls to the pull. Another England batter finds the fielder to perfection. Shortish and angling in to Livingstone, he goes back and plays the shot that is on. But because of Axar's height, there is a bit more lift and that proves to be Livi's undoing. Rana, the sub, settles himself under it and takes it safely. Livingstone throws his head back and walks off dejected 90/5
12.3 Use of the feet and hit straight to long-off! Smith is distraught! He seemed to be picking the spin well and making good shot selections as well. But that is all we have from him today. Once again tries to attack Abhishek, the part-timer, by dancing down to go inside out over cover. Hits it a lot straighter and finds Tilak at the rope. England attacking but crumbling too 104/6
15.6 No clue, no clue and Overton is out of here! Varun comes back to over the wicket, bowls it quick and lands it on a length just outside off. It is the googly again and it spins in ever-so slightly. Overton is hanging back to take as much clue from it after it lands but there is not enough time to adjust once it skids through. He is beaten on the inside and that's that 136/7
16.1 A huge mix-up and the attacking Carse is run-out! Looked like only one of those batters wanted a second. Carse went back to turn the googly through midwicket and ran the first one quickly. He turned and paused before getting going for the second, by when Archer sent him back. Too late, for the throw was on point for Bishnoi to do the rest. In fact, Archer was already off for a second before retreating, because Carse paused 137/8

18.6 A soft, soft caught behind, barely any celebration, too! The offcutter on a length outside off, 114.6kph, Rashid once again goes for the pull and only gets a top edge. It flies loopily and settles into Samson's gloves 157/9

2.3 Samson has been given a really working-over here, and falls to another hard-length ball. Looks to hoick it leg-side but is cramped for room and rushed by the pace, at 92mph/148kph. Good height but not the distance to match, and Carse settles underneath a simple chance 19/2
1.3 smashed on the back leg by the nip-backer! Given out on-field, but Abhishek will review after a chat with Samson. 92mph/148kph, shaping back in and thudding into the back thigh as it snuck past the inside edge, with Abhishek looking to swipe leg-side. Ball-tracking projects it would have pinned back the top of middle, and Abhishek has to go 15/1

5.4 plays on, silence at the Chepauk! Hard length, Surya is looking to work it away leg side but is rushed by the pace, and can only skew it onto his own stumps. India lose their captain, and are three down inside the Powerplay 58/3
7.4 mistimed straight to short midwicket! Silence again. Carse is having a brilliant night: a cameo with the bat from No. 8, and now two wickets. Back of a length, skidding through, and Jurel's tame pull shot skews straight to Rehan Ahmed, on as a sub fielder for Wood 66/4
9.1 strikes first ball! England have five and Gambhir in the India dugout looks shocked. Slammed in halfway down, Hardik was looking to slice it away behind square on the off side but was tentative in his shot, and got a little glove through to Salt. Pace and bounce strikes again! 78/5
13.4 Castled! Chepauk quietened again! It is the cross seam delivery on a length on middle and leg, 139kph, Washington looks to glide it to deep third again. But he completely missed it and sees his stumps shattered. Carse points to Buttler and mid-off and celebrates, suggested a pre-set plan coming off. On another look, it seems as if the ball did not climb as much as Washy expected it to, and skidded through 116/6
14.5 Holed out straight to deep midwicket! England and Buttler's gamble pays off. Livingstone tosses it up around middle, Axar slogs it high and straight to Duckett at the fence. He covers his eyes in disbelief. All over for India? 126/7
16.6 And Arshdeep finds the lone man deep on the leg side! Rashid floats it up full on off and middle, he gets down on a knee to slog it over midwicket. Gets a top edge that goes and nestles in Archer's waiting hands at deep backward square leg 146/8
