2.36pm As West Indies prepare to defend their score, Chris Gayle is warming up by the side of the boundary by doing half push-ups, with his knees to the ground. Can expect the big man to roll his arm over. Which is always fun...

"Can we say Abhijito's crystal ball doesnt work and cricinfo should choose from so many others who keep posting? Biased commentators of cricinfo keep posting messages from same pll over n over. This is my last try. After this wont follow cricinfo if my messages doesnt appear. Would have sent millions of them so far." --- Rocky's road to redemption is complete...

Saftar Haasmi: "Except Gayle every other batsman who played had hit a six... Isn't it rare? " --- Good spot, though barring Brathwaite and Allen (the latter never got to face a ball), nobody else faced as few deliveries as Gayle. And he got out looking for a straight six down the ground

RAJ KUMAR SHAKY: "Can somebody advise how much run difference is required to win by Pakistan against Bangladesh to qualify for Semi-Final??" --- The equation, if I am not mistaken, is to win by a margin of 316 runs or more, batting first. If they bat second, there's no conceivable way they can overtake New Zealand. Paying for the poor start against West Indies

2.28pm Tilan: "Wow a record chase today by AFG tomorrow by PAK.Cheer up guys!" --- Indeed, as Afghanistan's record successful chase in the past is 276 against UAE

2.08pm So the West Indies have walloped 111 off the last 10 overs. Already it appears as if Afghanistan may be chasing at least 60 too many. Another sparkling batting performance led by Hope and the ever-improving Pooran. Hetmyer showed traces of brilliance until he self-destructed, not for the first time in his career. Holder continues to impress with every outing with the bat, making a case to become their first-choice No. 6 for a decade and more if he can stay injury-free.

For Afghanistan, Rashid was inconsistent, even though his figures won't tell you that.Mujeeb started well but fell apart. Ditto with the fast bowlers, who exhibited vice-like grip for the first 20 overs. But at no stage did West Indies batsmen give you the impression that they were desperate to blast the bowling. They held shape, kept their composure, pinched the singles, ran hard and then teed off towards the end. Afghanistan will have to set a record to win this. Given the way they've batted this tournament, you'd think it's a massive ask. Join us in 30 minutes for the chase.

Sayed Shirzad to Brathwaite, FOUR, straight through the captain's hands at long-off. Bounces into the ropes. What should've been a wicket is now a boundary. He used the depth of the crease to get under the length and wallop this straight. The sun may have got in Gulbadin's way.

Sayed Shirzad to Brathwaite, SIX, clean strike, monstrous from Carlos! Backs away and drills this up and over long-off

Sayed Shirzad to Brathwaite, no run, taps it gently to point, no run.

Sayed Shirzad to Holder, OUT, heaved across the line and it's an easy catch to the man coming in from deep square. Mistimed this, also didn't pick the pace on this slower ball.
