5.57pm So, first blood to England in an unlikely top versus bottom clash. This is not an easy pitch, but 230 feels very attainable regardless. At least 20 runs short of a par score, and 280 felt within India's grasp while Rohit and KL Rahul were in charge of the tempo. Hemant will be back for the resumption shortly.
Chris Woakes was the pick of England's attack: "Nice to go well with the new ball, been a tough tournament for us. And that's one of the areas we've needed to improve. Seven overs, always nice when you're in rhythm, a decent spell to put them under pressure. I missed my lengths early in the tournament, and I'm my own biggest critic. Fielding set the tone for us. It took a bit of spin, and a bit two-paced, but hopefully under lights it'll slide on. But we'd have taken that at the start. Hopefully we can bat well and chase it down."
Geve: "India has got same 229, which Netherland has got, will it be a replica of yesterday's match " Entirely possible!
BhushanM: "Mark my words.. Bumrah's 16 patient runs will be the difference today.. "
Surendar Mani: "India will feel the pain of not having Ashwin in playing XI. it is a blunder i think"
JJ Bumrah run out 16 (44m 25b 1x4 0x6) SR: 64.00
Yogesh: "India will end with 20 runs short of an ideal score on this pitch but remember England are 100 runs short on confidence. So India still favorites!" Fair point!
