Sydney Sixers are BBL 09 champions. The rain held off long enough so that they could earn the title. The second title in franchise history. The Stars come up short for the third time in a final. That concludes our BBL coverage this year. Thank you for being a part of it. On behalf of the team, it's goodbye from the SCG.
Presentation Player of the Final is Josh Philippe: "It's amazing. To think a couple of years ago I never thought I'd be here."
Stars captain Glenn Maxwell: "Extremely proud. The boys had a great year. To finish on top of the ladder after the home and away season was a great effort. Unfortunately we let ourselves down tonight but they can be proud. Two finals in a row. We've been extremely consistent. Onwards and upwards to next year. Congratulations to the Sixers and Moises who led superbly."
Sixers captain Moises Henriques: "It is much better to get out there and do some work to win the trophy. Well done to the ground staff. Thanks to the fans for turning out with the forecast. Congratulations to the Stars on a great season."
Sydney Sixers win BBL 09! It's their second BBL title. They win by 19 runs! Another brilliant performance from the Sixers with the ball. It's the third time they have beaten the Stars in four meetings this year including twice in the finals. They deserve the title. Josh Hazlewood was outstanding with the ball along with Lyon and O'Keefe after Josh Philippe set the game up with a brilliant half-century.
Vivek: "J Silk need to get as much credit as others, he steadied the other end and scored few boundaries to ease the pressure on Philip."
Sajid: "Sydney Sixers the deserving winners. Only disappointment is the absence of Tom Curran in this line-up who turned many matches for them single-handedly. "
Brad: "The stars lost last year's final by 13 runs, now this. It will continue to be a mental hurdle until they eventually win one"
A roar from the home crowd. They know they've got it
Abid : "One of the batsman needs to do Braithwaite here. "

Joe: "Dunk was one of the top batters in the Mzansi Super League this season batting up the order, but for some reason the Stars have batted him down the order when they have Maddinson (who averages about 10 for them over the last few seasons) opening"
Gaurav: Stars have not lost batting first in 5 occasions this tournament. Stars openers have 9 fifty + scores ( Stoinis has 7) and have scored 1007 runs . Stoinis has obviously dominated with 695 runs. Only 1 fifty in a lost game and that was against Sixers at Sydney in the league stage.
