8.55 pm A 63-run partnership to end the innings off the final 37 balls (wides and no balls included). Renshaw superb at the finish to strike 36* off 20 to build off the heavy lifting done by Wells and Cockbain to get Strikers back into the match after they dug themselves a very big hole in the Powerplay. Sixers already came into this match shorthanded with Philippe ruled out with Covid and now both Silk and O'Keefe have left the field with leg injuries are not expected to bat until 10 and 11. Can the Sixers overcome all of that to book a place in the final or will the Strikers continue their magical and improbable run? Stay with us for the start of the chase when Alex Malcolm will be back in the central commentary position.

Ron: "I heard on Fox just now that it's 24 frames per second. Is that a lot? Sounds like a lot…." That's quite slow, but generally standard for SD video. DSLR cameras can shoot HD video at 60 FPS, 2.5 times faster.

2
Dwarshuis to Renshaw, 2 runs, yorker on off, jammed out to long-on for two.

1b
Dwarshuis to Wells, 1 bye, short on fifth stump, swings through a cut, they try to pinch a bye. Relay from the keeper to Dwarshuis, who flicks underhand into the stumps but Wells looks like he's just beaten the throw thanks to a very slow frame rate on the square camera. There's about a foot gap of bat distance between one frame to the second frame.

John: "Imagine telling someone at the start of the season Rashid Khan would leave the strikers and they would win every game after that to reach the final……"

2
Dwarshuis to Renshaw, 2 runs, full on off, driven to long-on for a very sharp two as again the Sixers fielders are hanging back on the rope not really charging in. Bird the guilty party on as a sub fielder for Jordan Silk, who has a hamstring strain.

Abbott to Wells, FOUR, full on fifth stump, heaved through midwicket for a boundary.
18.5

Abbott to Wells, no run, slower ball full and wide at 115 kph, well outside the guidelines but inexplicably deemed legal. Wells took guard on off stump but even with that extra allowance for the bowler this was nowhere within reach to play a shot.
18.4
2
Abbott to Wells, 2 runs, length ball on the stumps, heaved to long-on. Christian lets it bounce in front of him staying back on the rope for the free hit where a catch wouldn't have counted but Wells seizes on it two sprint back for two when it really should've never been more than one.

Derek: "What was wrong with the surge? They got 16 runs from it and only lost 1 wicket. Think people keep forgetting how light on batting the Sixers are". I think most people are spoiled with the idea of 30+ runs coming in the Surge overs but it's never a given, especially against a stronger bowling lineup.
