9:20pm The Brisbane Heat stay undefeated. It came down to two boundaries in the Power Surge, and the Heat can probably say they timed the Power Surge and the rain intervention to perfection. Jokes aside, it was a game that had its twists and turns and perhaps deserved the full 40 overs. The bottom line, though, is that the Heat did just enough, and the Sixers were left ruing what might have been.

Prior to the rain delay, Brown had gotten the visitors up and running, targeting Murphy and getting them up to 54-1 after seven overs. His wicket, however, triggered a mini-collapse that saw Renshaw and Billings also depart in quick succession. That was when the first rain delay hit, and that seemed to turn the tide, with the Heat then looking much more composed when they returned to chase a truncated target.

9:16pm The umpires, with their umbrellas up, are shaking hands with the ground staff, and this might be it, folks. It is official. The match has been called off and the Brisbane Heat win by three runs (DLS method)!

Sharif: "Fox Cricket is showing the par score is 101 after 14.3 overs. I wonder which one is correct." -- It is indeed 101, sorry for the bit of confusion.

9:09pm And it has started pelting down in Coffs Harbour. The DLS Par score, at this stage, is 101, and the Brisbane Heat are ahead. This bout of rain looks heavier than the previous one, and I am not too optimistic we will get back on, given the time constraints.

7:35pm Ten runs off the last two balls, and the Sixers have managed to breach the 140-run mark. Unfortunately for the hosts, there was not a lot else to shout about. Philippe batted well for his 41, as did Edwards for his 22. The lack of support, though, meant that the Sixers could never generate the requisite momentum to turbocharge their innings.

The Heat must also be lauded for the way they bowled. They used the slightly sluggish nature of the surface and moulded their plans accordingly. Whenever it seemed the Sixers would generate a head of steam, they picked up a wicket and kept them in check. The spinners, in particular, were impressive, combining for 45 runs in eight overs and picking up three wickets.

They might not be happy with the runs they conceded right at the end, although they will be quietly confident of chasing this down. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!
