7:50pm The Heat have stuttered and stumbled their way to 132, which, at this point, seems a bit under-par. Apart from Munro, none of the other batters got going, and post the Heat captain's dismissal in the 15th over, it was a proper struggle. Walter, who usually provides the finishing kick at the death, scratched his way to 22 off 21 and that sort of sums it up.
Much of that was down to the Hurricanes' bowling effort. They figured out early the lines and lengths that needed to be bowled and stuck by it throughout. Meredith was exceptional, despite not taking a wicket. Jordan bagged three, and Ellis snapped up two, and that broke the back of the Heat's innings.
There is a bit of juice in the surface, and that might keep the hosts' pacers interested. However, at the half-way point, there is no doubt who will be the happier side. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!
