Stuart: "This game is done and dusted; always a massive toss bias to the team batting first here anyway but that is a monster score. hurricanes no chance at all " -- Well, that is quite the prediction!

8:49pm A largely belligerent team innings by the Strikers. Lynn, as he does so often, set the tone at the start, striking at more than 180. Pope and Ross then kept things ticking through the middle, with the latter, in particular, putting the Strikers on course for a 180-plus score. Overton, too, got a few hits away towards the end and the visitors will be happy with what they have on the board.

As for the Hurricanes, they were good in patches. Their new-ball bowling was tidy but after that, they were guilty of bowling on both sides of the wicket a touch. Meredith was undeniably the pick of their bowling bunch and his efforts, plus Ellis' exploits at the death, mean this is still a chaseable score, even though it will not be a walk in the park. We will be back shortly with the run-chase!

Ellis to Overton, 1 bye, excellent final over! Pace-on, bowled on a back of a length outside off. Overton does not seem to be expecting it and is late on his swing. The ball screams past the bat and Bazley sneaks a bye to ensure the innings does not finish with two consecutive dots!

Jordan to Ross, OUT, knocks him over! Jordan's spell ends with a big scalp! Hard length. Pitches just outside off and nips back in a smidgen. Ross wanted to cut it away but the inward movement made that untenable. The ball zips past his flailing blade and thunders into the top of off stump. An enterprising knock but someone else will have to take the Strikers closer to 200 now!
