6.53 pm That maiden in the Powerplay to BBL leading scorer Chris Lynn bowled by left-arm speedster Spencer Johnson set the tone for the Heat in the field and from there it was an uphill battle that Strikers could not wind up scaling in the end.

Player of the Match is Matt Kuhnemann: "Marnus gave us a bit of a rev up saying 154 was enough. We thought 180 would be par so we knew we had to do a good job in the field. Uzzy pretty much told me I'd take the new ball when we were running out. The wicket probably wasn't as good as both teams would've thought. I love bowling the first over and try to base my game off Steve O'Keeffe and he loves bowling the first over. We just planned about how to keep [Matt Short] off strike to contain him. We wanted to attack the stumps a bit more so it worked."

That's it for live coverage of the first match today. Flip over to live coverage of the second half of today's BBL doubleheader where the Melbourne derby is taking place between the Renegades and Stars. Take care!
