9.33pm Out comes Kohli, alongside Washington Sundar. He's done it in this format at domestic level as well as in the TNPL. Quite a chance here in Padikka's absence. Trent Boult has the ball and two slips.

Wilson: "What about the 90 minute new rule? RCB are short by 20 minutes..! " --- Yup, this innings has taken 110 minutes. The allowed time is 85 + 5 minutes for the timeouts. If the officials press a charge, Kohli could be fined INR 12 lakh for the first offence.

Pushkaraj: "At the start someone wanted Harshal Patel to get easy runs! Apart from his 1st over he did exactly the opposite of it.... Well bowled Harshal Patel"

Suyog: "With Pollard and Krunal on strike, only 1 run of the last over in a T20 is one of the craziest things to happen"

Om Kharade: "We do make fun of RCB when their players do well for other franchises, well how good has Boult been for MI and Harshal today, both previously playing for DC"

Anubhav: "RCB mustve been looking for someone who could simply contain in the death, but Harshal came like Lasith Malinga with slower balls, Yorkers, reverse swing, and slower ball Yorkers. Exceptional. Absolutely exceptional "

AmericanCricket: "Harshal Patel has got the FIRST 5-for against Mumbai Indians EVER... in the 14th edition. Superb bowling to drag the defending champions back. "

Varun: "So happy to see Harshal do well. He has been a real star performer in domestic circuit but missed out on Team India because of middling IPLs. He is a very handy hitter too. Opened the batting for Haryana in T20s."

Lakshmi Manasa : "Wow! Just wow! Harshal has literally left me speechless. I was questioning why Kohli had picked him in the squad over Saini, and now, I know the answer. Pat yourself on the back, Mr. Patel! You have turned this game around!"

Harshal Patel: Ball started tailing in a bit when I came in the 16th over, and that was my cue. I executed perfectly. You can't look at the opposition all the time, all you must focus on is your planning and the execution. It was very clear from the beginning that I would bowl two at the death, but luckily I got three. This is my first five-wicket haul in T20s, I've played about a 100 matches. Feels good that it's come against Mumbai. It's a good batting surface but the dimensions of the ground help you take pace off the ball.

9.20pm This is some comeback from RCB - only 25 off the last four overs conceded. They've had their troubles at the death, but no such problems tonight. It seems like Harshal was penciled in to bowl his last three in that phase and he has done stupendously. 25 off the last four is Mumbai's lowest return since 2016, when they played out the overs in a losing cause. Quite a story that. It was tough going but Lynn came through after surviving early on. RCB seemed to have lost control through the middle with Chahal and Ahmed going for runs, but the pacers have pulled it back nicely. Mumbai have left a few runs out there. We're back shortly for the chase.

Patel to Bumrah, 1 run, OUT, full slower ball at middle stump, waits on that and drives to long-on. Chahar wants to come back for the second, Bumrah in no position to respond. The throw goes to the striker's and that is four wickets and only a run off Mumbai's last over

Patel to Bumrah, no run, another dipping yorker slips through from under Bumrah's bat. He was looking to chop that to third man

W
Patel to Jansen, OUT, Harshal has a five-for! What a ball. This is some mastery of the slower yorker. Not this ball, but the three that set it up. Jansen is reaching out in anticipation of another, but Harshal gets this regular paced delivery to tail in from outside off, squeeze through between inside edge and front foot, and knocks the stumps

Patel to Jansen, no run, narrowly misses leg stump! Wow, you'd think Malinga is bowling here. He has nailed that slower, dipping yorker. Jansen is swishing wildly as it approaches him, well down leg side. The ball is just past leg stump

Jansen is on strike

W
Patel to Pollard, OUT, holes out to deep square! A quick offbreak, at leg stump on a length. Pollard reaching out again, third ball in a row, without control. Can only flick it high for that fielder. Harshal is on a hat-trick

KA Pollard c Washington Sundar b Patel 7 (24m 9b 1x4 0x6) SR: 77.77

W
Patel to KH Pandya, OUT, taken at deep midwicket. Short of a length, pushed across leg stump. Gets into a half crouch and tries to turn that behind square. Only gets it high in front of square and that is an easy grab

Top debut for Jamieson, and he's bowled the tough overs pretty well. Harshal now to close things off.

Jamieson to Pollard, no run, gets it right again with the slower bouncer. This time Pollard reaches out and can't get a touch on it

Jamieson to Pollard, FOUR, oh that's unlucky for Jamieson. Slower short ball at middle stump, Pollard backs away and is outfoxed after shaping for the pull. It comes off the top edge and clears the keeper

Jamieson to KH Pandya, no run, nails the yorker, breaks the bat! Krunal is lucky the blade hasn't fallen onto his stumps. He had completed his swing and the bat was still intact after he'd gone through, with the swing taking it behind him. Then, it just breaks clean from the handle and lands safely

Jamieson to KH Pandya, (no ball) FOUR, dropped short at middle stump, stands tall and leans into that as he pull. Gets it between deep square and deep midwicket. Jamieson looks shocked. It looks like something was up with the field...umpires confirm they had only three inside the circle! Oh that is unpardonable. Mumbai have a free hit.

Jamieson to KH Pandya, 1 run, dropped at mid-off. It's Virat Kohli. Length ball just outside off, a powerful drive on the rise, flat and at Kohli's face. Straightforward, really. It looks like it's burst through his fingers and caught him above the eye. He's on his feet

ankit singh: "Harshal is certainly disappointing MI fans!!!"

Patel to Ishan Kishan, OUT, they've reviewed for lbw and I reckon this is going to be out. It's a dead-on yorker at middle stump. Kishan swishes across it and misses. Struck on the back leg, right in front of middle. No bat. Yup, that will be overturned. Perhaps the umpire thought that was pitching outside leg, but it has curved subtly to land on a leg stump line and would have ripped middle stump out. Good ball, good review. Mumbai are losing steam here

Patel to Ishan Kishan, 2 runs, dropped at deep square! Siraj puts down a sitter. Slower short ball at off stump, aerial hook fetched from away. Ends up slicing it, it goes nice and friendly to Siraj. He's under it but it pops out

Patel to Pollard, 1 run, length and a bit of late dip inwards, which is enough to mess with Pollard's flow. Wants to swat that straight, but it comes off the inside half and ends up at deep midwicket

Mohammed Siraj to Pollard, no run, struck on the chest as he looks to evade this short ball. An inconvenient one, rising inwards and Pollard drops the bat

Ramanathan: "15.6 - that was a full toss when it hit the pad and the action showed it was an offcutter. But hawk eye projection did not account for any turn after pitching before stumps. Isn't this a loophole?" ---- When the impact is on the full, it just extrapolates the path because it can't predict behaviour after pitching
