While we wait for the KKR reply to begin, here's an interesting story for you to read: "walk out, chest out, ready to punch the guys" - what de Villiers' told Kohli for rediscovering the joy of the game
Ashok Kumar: "Very ordinary captaincy from Morgan, If Shakib and Russell doesn't click its gonna be RCB all the way!!"
Sampath Bandarupalli: De Villiers and Jamieson added 56 in last three overs at a run rate of 18.66. Among all 50+ partnerships in the IPL, only Russell-Gill's 53* off 13 vs RCB in 2019 had a higher run rate (24.46)
Gaurav Sundararaman: At the 10 over, ESPNcricinfo's forecaster predicted that RCB will end with 175. Thanks to AB, they've finished with 204.
Dhruv : "I feel Maxwell's innings was better. He came out when RCB were struggling at 9/2 and consistently maintained a strike rate of more than 150. That is something extremely difficult to do and was simply remarkable. While AB's innings was also superb, unlike Maxwell he had the license to go all out from ball one. "
Siddhant: "Poor captaincy by Morgan.. took out varun after bowling just one over.. kept harbhajan till 19th when he was bowling so well in powerplay. You can't use Russell for 18th and 20th over in every other match specially when ABD is in full flow. Pitch is not that good as maxwell and ABD made it look like. Advantage RCB."
Sahil : "This is definitely above par score. Might see another apology from SRK:("
BeardGuy: "Washington Sundar deserves three straight overs in the powerplay at his home ground."
5.15pm That was one heck of an innings from AB. He thrusts Maxwell into the shade with that whirlwind 76 off 34 balls. RCB smash 70 off the last five overs to finish with 204 for 4. Here's Maxwell speaking to Star Sports: "It was nice to get in early and cash in on the powerplay when the ball was hard. Tried to take on spinners and have as many wickets. It didn't feel like you could consistently hit the ball down the ground. We just tried to cash in on width and take the innings deeper. AB did it in the first game and he's probably the only guy who can get after [them] here."
