7.45pm Every single CSK batter has contributed to what has been a stunning batting effort from them. Gaikwad and Faf set it up, Robin and Moeen came in and sustained that aggression right through. Faf was reprieved on 2 by Dinesh Karthik, a rather straightforward stumping chance at his level. He cashed in to play an outstanding knock when it mattered most. Two of KKR's key bowlers had an off day. Lockie Ferguson just couldn't find his rhythm and went for 56 off his four overs. Only Watson has conceded more (61) in an IPL final - for RCB against Sunrisers in 2016. Varun, who hasn't given more than 26 off his four overs, went for 38. This has left a huge task for KKR. They have the quality. When they last won the title in 2014, KKR chased down 199. This is six short. Maybe that's what McCullum is telling them too. We will kick off the chase soon.

Ruturaj Gaikwad chats to Star Sports: "I think Shakib was about to bowl two overs, so I thought I'm maybe a better player of spin and I should take him on," he says when asked if it was a conscious decision to be the aggressor. "It's stopping, holding up, we did brilliantly well to get to 190, it's going to be challenging for them. I think it's enough but we need to execute well. I wanted Faf to hit a six off that last ball to add six more to our total (asked if he knew Faf was two short of the orange cap)."

Shivam Mavi to du Plessis, OUT, he's holed out to long-on! Won't get the orange cap but what a knock he's played. Absolutely incredible. Faf went after this full ball, looked to swing this over long-on, but just didn't get enough on it.

Our numbers wiz Shiva Jayaraman pings: Moeen Ali has scored 42% of his runs through the midwicket region in the UAE leg of this IPL before this match. In the Indian leg too, midwicket was his dominant scoring region, but it contributed only 24.7% of his runs. With the UAE pitches being on the slower side, Ali has swung across the line and has been dismissed on a few occasions doing so. A bit of pace on this wicket has helped him hit 3 sixes and a four in front of the wicket on the offside (at the end of the 19th over), and his highest score of the UAE leg.

Ferguson to du Plessis, FOUR, ah! What wrists, what bottomhand! Lockie goes length outside off and Faf whips this over midwicket. My word, he nearly cleared the boundary. 19 off the over, ends what has been a nightmarish outing for Lockie. That's sport. Cruel. Spare a thought for Lockie, he's been excellent all season.

Ferguson to du Plessis, SIX, goes over cover and clears the ropes! Lockie went slow and full but wide outside off, Faf used the room to swing that freely. That was right in the slot to be picked off.
