It's PDP time here!
Jerrin Jose: "You didn't mention anything about Meredith. Why didn't he bowl his two overs? What was randeep given two overs? Those two overs are accountable for 20 runs" Think it was a tactical choice. A surprising one, but I suspect they wanted to give Ramandeep a chance.
Jasprit Bumrah, 3 for 25: Felt good, did nothing out of the ordinary. It's not about wickets, having fun while bowling is what I enjoy. Overall feeling was very good. You love taking wickets and making an impact. The first was special as Marsh was in good form. But executing the plan feels good. (On lengths) The wicket is two-paced and not like the normal Wankhede pitch. It was not swinging so this is what I assessed and adapted. I back our batters and hope they'll get us home.
9:22 pm: After a horrid start, DC do well to set a target of 160. Bumrah was the star of the show. He got wickets, hit the lengths, nailed the yorkers. Sams' wicket of Warner was huge. Marsh, Prithvi, and Sarfaraz's failures seemed too big to overcome. But Powell took on the bowling as Pant consolidated at the other end. Ramandeep's over (16th) got Pant but it, like the Shokeen over earlier (12th) got DC going. Despite losing Powell in the end, they got handy runs from Axar and allowed them to get to a defendable score.
