9:27pm Well, that was a strange innings. LSG began strongly, scoring 49 in teh powerplay and not losing a wicket. In the middle overs, though, they stagnated. Rahul and Pandya played through much of that phase and their lack of intent left a bit to be desired. As it turned out, that slow-down left Pooran and Stoinis with plenty to do towards the end. The latter got a few boundaries away but the former perished for a duck, meaning that LSG stuttered and stumbled their way to 159-8.
PBKS, meanwhile, would be thrilled with how they closed out their innings. They only gave away 48 runs in the last five overs, with only 21 coming off the final three. Curran was superb, both as skipper and as their death-overs enforcer. Arshdeep, too, did his bit, while Rabada broke the game open with the twin scalps of Pooran and Pandya.
Shahrukh Khan: The ball was following me a lot today but good I managed to pull off (those catches). Before the game, Sam told me that he would be using me (tall fielders) on the shorter boundary. The wicket looked a bit dry. Now, the dew has come in and Sam told me that the ball is skidding on really well. The ball got wet in the last two overs and it could help us. I think if we bat smartly in the first six overs, and then, it is about applying ourselves in the middle overs.
Right. Curran is on a hat-trick now. We saw a team hat-trick earlier in the day by the Capitals. Can Curran get one for himself here? He has Bishnoi in his sights.
