5:07pm That was a strange innings by RCB. They raced out of the traps in the powerplay and went at close to 10 runs per over. Thereafter, they slowed down drastically, despite having two set batters at the crease. Kohli, in particular, huffed and puffed in the middle overs. While trying to up the ante, he perished to Brar and was soon followed by Maxwell. Du Plessis did get a couple of boundaries away but looked exhausted by the time he was dismissed by Ellis. Karthik, too, could not provide RCB with the finishing kick they craved.

While RCB's batting plans left a little to be desired, PBKS must be applauded for how they used the conditions. They brought out their changes of pace and largely refrained from bowling in the slot. The pitch did help their cutters to grip, and they now have a target that they will be confident of chasing down, despite the surface showing signs of tiring.
