On that note, we take your leave. The other match is already 15 minutes in. Thanks for joining us. Bye

7.45pm The Player of the Match is Devon Conway. He says, and this is not verbatim: We felt it was a little bit slow when you hit the wicket. We thought 200 was a very competitive total so a little bit disappointed that we lost this one. I try not to over-complicate things. I try to keep things as simple as possible. I try and work as closely as I can with Mike Hussey. Along with the other players. We have got a lot of experience in our camp. Just try to work with them. In the middle as well.

7.40pm Shikhar Dhawan says, and this is not verbatim: It feels very very special beating Chennai in Chennai. I am very happy with the way we played. It shows great character of our side to bounce back from that loss, and leaving it behind. All credit goes to the team and the support staff. I was very happy at the way the bowlers bowled. At first when I saw, I thought the wicket was dry but it had good bounce. As a captain, I wanted Liam to play more overs. And Jitesh too. The good sign is that all the boys are performing.

7.35pm So even Dhoni has gone back to that Jadeja innings of 10 balls where he tried to hit only one boundary. Without actually taking names, though. Conway was brilliant, the PBKS spinners were not great, but their fast bowlers closed out well with slower balls. Then in the chase, the batters kept doing enough against pace so as to not have toe be desperate against the slower bowlers. Pathirana was excellent in overs 18 and 20, but not enough to win it for CSK.

7.32pm Sikandar Raza says, and this is not verbatim: Coming from the Zimbabwe culture, we put more emphasis on winning rather than individual performances. I don't know what the discussion was before the last ball. Just am lot of arms waving in the dugout. That over when Livi took charge was the momentum shift. Jitesh has been striking so well all all IPL. The way he batted today was great. I was trying to get bat on ball and run as hard as I can.

7.30pm MS Dhoni says, and this is not verbatim: We lost it in a couple of overs in the middle. You need to be aware what you need to bowl and be clear because the batters will be going for it. Also towards the end of our innings, could we have got 10 more? Because our bowling needs exposure, and we should be doing better with the bat. The pitch had turn, there was some turn when it hit the seam. The slower balls gripped. I think 200 was par but we bowled two bad overs. Pathirana bowled well but other than that, we need to see if the plans were wrong or the execution was bad.

7.25pm What a thriller we have had. CSK will be upset they couldn't defend 200 on a pitch that gripped. PBKS were excellent with the bat. The intent shown by them was great. I still go back to Jadeja's innings, who just kept looking for gaps and not big hits.

Pathirana to Sikandar Raza, 3 runs, Raza has taken them home. What a superb final over from Pathirana. He goes slower ball into the surface, short of a length, outside off. Raza seems to have picked his spot. He moves across to pull it over square leg inside the circle. Bang in the middle of deep fine leg and deep midwicket. As you can imagine this slower ball has not been timed perfectly, but it keeps trickling away from square leg. Desperate fielding prevents the boundary but they take three runs

Two for super over. Deep point, long-off, long-on, deep midwicket, deep fine leg. The batters are having a chat with the umpires. Do they want to get rid of their pads? Not sure. Here we go

2
Pathirana to Sikandar Raza, 2 runs, shuffles across early, drags the slower ball into the leg side, past square leg, gets two by the time Jadeja from deep midwicket fields and throws

Five off two. Raza on strike. Chepauk buzzing with C-S-K chants

19.4
2
Pathirana to Sikandar Raza, 2 runs, full and straight, tries the big hit, goes off the inside half of the bat, straight of deep midwicket, gets two

Pathirana to Sikandar Raza, no run, slower ball, lovely slower ball, outside off, Raza is having a big slog at it, and the low bounce beats him

Will Pathirana make that one mistake that batters bank on? Will PBKS be good enough to cash in?

Pathirana to Shahrukh Khan, 1 leg bye, nails the inswinging yorker. Missing leg but another ball that just gets them one. That too a leg-bye n

1
Pathirana to Sikandar Raza, 1 run, full and wide, just the single to deep cover

Pathirana to bowl the last over. Eight runs for super over, nine for PBKS win, seven for CSK win. Raza on strike. Fine leg back. Long-on, long-off, deep cover, deep midwicket

END OF OVER:
19 | 13 Runs 1 Wkt | PBKS: 192/6 (9 runs required from 6 balls, RR: 10.10, RRR: 9.00)

Deivarayan Muthu is all excited. He sends this: "Over to SRK. He was a ball boy in the first-ever IPL game at Chepauk in 2008. He grew up dreaming of finishing IPL games for CSK at Chepauk. Now is his chance to finish off CSK at Chepauk."

1
Deshpande to Sikandar Raza, 1 run, short and wide, keeping the ball away from him, pulled to deep midwicket for one
18.6
1w
Deshpande to Sikandar Raza, 1 wide, qide outside off. Clearly outside the blue line even as he gets the yorker length right
18.5
4
Deshpande to Sikandar Raza, FOUR, wide full toss. Even though it has gone off the edge past short third for four, this one deserves punishment

Big big decision. Sikandar Raza comes in, and the crowd is raucous

W
Deshpande to Sharma, OUT, has he touched the rope? Another slower ball, wide outside off, grips the surface, Jitesh looks to go straight, and toe-ends a skier towards long-on. Shaik Rasheed is the fielder who seems to have misjudged and come in too far. He goes back, takes it overhead and then trips. His back foot gets stuck and doesn't slip, which seems to have stopped it from hitting the boundary triangle. The third umpire takes a long look, and his reasoning for giving this out is "I don't see the board move". The other angle, I thought, showed him touch the triangle slightly, but I could be wrong. The third umpire is the expert here. He is not doing commentary while making the decision so we have to trust what he is seeing more than what I thought I saw

Deshpande to Sharma, no run, slower ball, just short of a length, beats him attempt to loft it down the ground from outside off
18.3
1w
Deshpande to Sharma, 1 wide, big wide outside off even though Jitesh has moved early. This is just too wide. Outside the return crease
18.2
2
Deshpande to Sharma, 2 runs, again a low full toss, but not too wide. He opens the face on the drive, and gets two between deep third and deep cover
18.1
4
Deshpande to Sharma, FOUR, wide low full toss. I think he is going for the blue-line yorker, but overcooks it. Jitesh lofts it over extra cover for four. He is batting beautifully

Eleven an over for the last two overs. Surely PBKS don't want to leave too many to get in Pathirana's last over? Deshpande has been given the big over. Not Akash

END OF OVER:
18 | 9 Runs 1 Wkt | PBKS: 179/5 (22 runs required from 12 balls, RR: 9.94, RRR: 11.00)

1
Pathirana to Sharma, 1 run, full and wide, driven to deep cover for as single
17.5
1
Pathirana to Shahrukh Khan, 1 run, kicks off a short of a length. Everything about his action says low bounce, but it grips the surface and jumps at his glove. SRK lucky it doesn't pop up
17.4
1
Pathirana to Sharma, 1 run, pinpoint yorker, on off, he gets the inside toe of the bat for a single
17.4
1w
Pathirana to Sharma, 1 wide, slower ball, short of a length, wide outside off, too wide outside off
17.3
4
Pathirana to Sharma, FOUR, Jitesh is playing like a dream. Again similar fullish roundarm delivery, he breaks his back knee to get low, and then just chips it over extra cover for four
17.2
1
Pathirana to Shahrukh Khan, 1 run, full, on off, pushed to deep cover for one

Once again, the game is in the balance. Shahrukh Khan comes in. The only player from Tamil Nadu in this match

17.1
W
Pathirana to Curran, OUT, oh this match is producing big plays after big plays. Again that natural inswing from that low angle beats the outside edge of Curran who things he has got a slot ball that he can loft back over his head. The off stumps is pegged back

SM Curran b Pathirana 29 (36m 20b 1x4 1x6) SR: 145.00

Ten an over to tie now. Two huge overs for PBKS. Now Dhoni goes to Pathirana

Jadeja to Curran, 1 run, on a length, middle and leg, dropped into the leg side for one more
16.5
6
Jadeja to Curran, SIX, another lovely shot. Down the wicket, also makes room to be able to swing at this, and whacks it straight back over his head for a six. Are people reminded of Jadeja's slow innings now, which began around this time in the first innings?
16.4
2
Jadeja to Curran, 2 runs, lovely shot. Jadeja bowls wicket to wicket, but Curran backs away to punch it past cover. Deshpande goes to his left from deep point and dives to save two runs
16.3
1
Jadeja to Sharma, 1 run, flat outside off, under edge for one as he looks to cut
