Jaiswal ended on the wrong side but ended as the deserved POTM recipient. Brilliant win for the hosts. SKY, Archer, David coming into form augurs well for them. That's it for now, two high-scoring thrillers ending with the chasing team winning. Thanks for tuning in, hope you enjoyed our coverage. I'm Ekanth on comms, Chandan Duorah and Thilak Rama were our scorers and it's goodbye from all of us.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, POTM: When I completed my century, I didn't know whether the ball went to the boundary. So I thanked God for everything. That was the highlight. Days like this definitely can happen. I want to focus on the process and work hard, and have the belief. I have been positive and am maintaining a good, fit lifestyle which is helping. The straight drive is my straight drive.

Rohit Sharma, MI captain: Was pleasing to see how we chased down the target. Last game too, we came close and we back ourselves to chase them down. So it was pleasing. Polly's shoes are big to fill, but Tim has got a lot of ability and power. At the back end that helps and is good to have. The changes in the side are difficult, but sometimes you have to play the conditions and make calls based on compositions, so the players need to be prepared for that. Jofra's had a massive injury, with bowlers we knew they need match practice. But his pace was a big positive and we thought SKY's innings like that was around the corner. (On Jaiswal) I watched him last year, he's taken it to the next level. I asked him 'where did you get the power from'. He said he's been going to the gym, that's good for him, India and RR.

Hari: "Time to remove the win prediction feature from Cricinfo?" Lol, nah, the fact that it went wrong illustrates how unlikely the result was.

Gorango: "Holder bowled 5 full tosses in a row. Maybe not the right death bowler."

Namit: "First Venky and now Jaiswal! It's official, MI is good in spoiling Centuries!!!"

Rohan: "The forecaster was stating RR was winning it till the 39th over, and yet MI won. This shows that Timmy is way beyond science and mathematics! :D"

Mustafa Moudi : "Fun Fact: A total of 827 Runs scored today in 4 innings with each innings total being higher than previous. What a Sunday !!"

Tim David: Amazing feeling. For our confidence, seeing how the boys went about it was awesome. It felt like every bowler had to be targeted but the conditions were batting-friendly. I wanted to play an innings like this for a while. In the final over, I tried to get in front and close the angle down, play good shots. It was good to bat at the end. Every time someone missed the yorker, you felt like you missed out as a batter.

Sanju Samson, RR captain: At the timeout, we were thinking that with the way SKY was going, we were thinking of fighting it out and we were almost there but Tim David did something special. (On the dew) It was kinda wet, not that wet, we were expecting it but had the experience to deal with it. The way we've been playing, with the last nine games ending with us winning or coming close, illustrates the high standards at which we've been playing. Jaiswal ended up on the wrong side but very happy for him personally.

On a belter with dew assisting the batters, MI lost Rohit early. It looked to me like it hit the off bail but slow-motion replays online suggest that might not have been straightforward. Sorry to the commentors who said so, I didn't see it at the time. Then Kishan couldn't get going but Green kept trying and made 44. It was when SKY took off that MI's chances rose. Ashwin was economical and took key wickets but his spell ended early. His spinning partner, Chahal, wasn't as effective. Boult and Sandeep bowled good death overs, but Holder's off-day cost the visitors big time. He was caught in a Tim David hurricane that swept over Wankhede.

11:50pm: David is Goliath! Jaiswal's 124 ends in vain. MI go up to 7th position and RR fall to 3rd in the points table. Hard to encapsulate the strokeplay, the power and brilliance with the bat. Ashwin's bowling shines out as well. But in the end, it was SKY and David's brilliance had the final say.

Varun: "while Holder did a Ben Stokes , David did a Brathwaite!"

Charlie99: "Someone had to say it - Remember the name!!"
