9:40pm RCB began their innings well and did not lose any wickets in the powerplay. As the innings progressed, though, they kept losing wickets and momentum. LSG's spinners tied them down and the visitors were just not able to break the shackles often enough. du Plessis tried to anchor the innings but fell just as the death overs dawned. Karthik got a couple of boundaries away but could not stay at the wicket till the end either. This wicket is definitely challenging, although RCB would have ideally wanted a few more runs on the board to defend. LSG, despite having botched a similar run-chase in a day game a few days ago at this venue, would be confident of hunting this down and going level with GT at the top of the points table.
Faf du Plessis: Pretty slow wicket with not a lot of bounce - we were thinking 135 was about a par score. If we get one or two wickets in the powerplay, it could be a tough chase. Playing finger-spin was really tough, that stopped a lot. I felt there was not a lot of bounce for the leg-spinner. Boundary-scoring is hard. We have got some good spinners in our line-up, if we get a few early wickets, it will be tough in the middle.

Alfred : "What is happening at Lucknow? Is the surface really that difficult to bat on? You reckon LSG may have trouble batting second? Or are RCB just self destructing on a good surface considering they opted to bat first? -- The pitch is definitely not easy to bat on but with rain possibly livening up the surface, and considering LSG's batting strength, RCB might need a score in excess of 140 ere
