9.06pm So SRH limited the damage in the end, but you would think RR will be delighted with 214 for 2. Jos Buttler returned to form, and Sanju Samson played for long enough to face 38 balls, which is bad news for opposition. Buttler says he always wants to start fast but he decided to bat without ego and take his time at the start. He says he has learned over the last few years that you can soak up the pressure for a few balls and catch up easily. He says Yashaswi has been batting beautifully, and it allows him to sometimes tuck behind him and get a start. Matt Roller tells me from Jaipur that Obed McCoy is marking his run-up. So he should be the Impact Player. I will be back soon.

Natarajan to Samson, FOUR, this is cruel. The man nails his yorker, but the batter opens the face on it, and somehow places it fine of short third for four more
19.5
6
Natarajan to Samson, SIX, okay that ramp earlier in the over has put Natarajan off to Plan B. He goes for the slower ball again, and this time Samson is waiting for it. Clears the front leg and lofts this length ball back over his head for a high but small six
19.4
1
Natarajan to Hetmyer, 1 run, misses the yorker but the low full toss is good enough to deny them a boundary. Just the single to long-on
19.3
1b
Natarajan to Samson, 1 bye, Samson is still looking for the ramp, Natarajan goes slower ball outside off, and Samson is beaten on the reverse-ramp. However, they steal a bye as this reaches Klaasen on the half-volley and he doesn't collect it cleanly

Fine leg goes back now. Square leg comes in

Natarajan to Samson, FOUR, I was wondering why they didn't try the ramp in the 18th over. Anyway, Samson does it now, and lofts this attempted yorker over short fine for four

1
Natarajan to Hetmyer, 1 run, down the wicket, takes this yorker on the full, lofts it wide of long-on, but this has gone to the left of Jansen, his natural hand, and he sticks out his long arm to keep it in and keep them down to one

Last over coming up. Two special overs. Can Natarajan follow up on that good work he started?

Kumar to Hetmyer, 2 runs, yorker, perhaps a couple of inches short of being one, Hetmyer does well to hit it wide of long-on for two

Shimron Hetmyer, as expected, is promoted ahead of Joe Root

W
Kumar to Buttler, OUT, but he has bluffed Buttler this time. Buttler is looking to shuffle to access that wide line, and he spears in a straight yorker/low full toss. Beats him comprehensively, hits him him plumb in front, not given out, and Bhuvneshwar immediately wants a review. The replay confirms it is hitting. Buttler misses out on a century, but walks back with his bat raised to acknowledge the hearty applause he is getting
