5:08pm: SRH were 58/1 at the end of the powerplay, with Travis Head going great guns. But he fell trying to attack Noor, then Mohit picked up Abhishek just when he looked set to go big, then Rashid removed the dangerous Klaasen. The Titans were very effective taking the pace off the ball towards the back end of that innings. Have SRH learned from that? Their captain specialises in that kind of bowling in white ball cricket, to be fair, so he'll certainly be encouraged by what he's seen from the wicket. They've got the extra spin option into their side, in the form of Washington, can he make use of the spin available on this track? 162 is not a huge total, but certainly is defendable.

Abdul Samad: This is a decent score. It's a day game, there's some help for the spinners as well, so this is a decent score. I was striking the ball well, so I thought I should've got more strike in the last over. Looking at our start, we thought we could get around 180, but around 160 is a decent score as well.

Sharma to Cummins, 1 run, OUT, slower short ball again, Cummins again doesn't time the pull shot well enough, and can only find square leg. They keep running off that last ball, and Samad ends up being run out

1
Sharma to Abdul Samad, 1 run, off cutter this time, short of a length, Samad waits but it barely even reaches him, so he can only manage to bunt it towards deep square leg

Sharma to Cummins, 1 run, back of the hand slower ball, Cummins gets across and swipes it to deep midwicket to get Samad back on strike
19.3
W
Sharma to Washington Sundar, OUT, Off cutter this time, dug in short, Washington connects nicely with the pull, but doesn't get enough power behind it and hits it straight to Rashid at deep midwicket. Samad is disappointed at being starved of the strike here.

Washington Sundar c Rashid Khan b Sharma 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

They've used their impact player here, the Sunrisers. Washington Sundar comes in, and he will replace Mayank Agarwal.

Sharma to Shahbaz Ahmed, OUT, back of the hand slower ball again, Shahbaz gets absolutely no timing on it, and ends up clonking it straight up in the air, Tewatia runs in from long-on to complete an easy catch

Sharma to Shahbaz Ahmed, no run, back of the hand slower ball, angling across Shahbaz as well, he plays an ugly hoick and gets nowhere near the ball

Nalkande to Shahbaz Ahmed, 1 run, Pace on this time, fuller length, Shahbaz goes for the ramp and gets hit on the pad. Nalkande is the only one appealing, the umpire says no. Gill reviews, but it's clearly hit the inside edge first, so Shahbaz will stay.

Nalkande to Shahbaz Ahmed, no run, sower short ball again, Shahbaz looks to help this with a pull over short fine leg, but only gloves it and it goes through to Saha on the bounce
18.4

Nalkande to Shahbaz Ahmed, SIX, Clean hit from Shahbaz! Nalkande was getting a bit too predictable, it was too short for the slower ball, Shahbaz waits on it and then mows it 85m towards the stands at cow corner
18.3
1
Nalkande to Abdul Samad, 1 run, fuller this time, pace on, Samad digs this out towards midwicket, where Umesh gives it a good chase to keep it down to one
18.2
2
Nalkande to Abdul Samad, 2 runs, Umesh puts it down! Short ball with all the pace taken off again, Samad gets no timing on it as looked to pull it over the midwicket boundary, Umesh runs to his right and puts in the dive, but can't hold on
18.1
2
Nalkande to Abdul Samad, 2 runs, takes pace off, pitches on a good length well outside off stump, Samad walks across and looks to mow it across the line, but doesn't time it at all. Eventually, that helps him out as they run through for a couple of runs by the time deep midwicket came in to pick that one up

Nalkande will bowl the 19th

achyut: "Philips for cummins? 4 overseas on field of play. Can bowl some spin too. Is there a loophole too" --- Firstly and most importantly, they won't be allowed to do that, as they've already named four overseas players in the XI. Secondly, even if they were allowed to do it, why would they sub their captain off? Thirdly, why would they starve themselves off the option of Cummins's off cutter banging into this slow track?

1
Sharma to Abdul Samad, 1 run, slower ball, short again, Samad pulls to deep midwicket
17.5
6
Sharma to Abdul Samad, SIX, Clean as a whistle from Samad! Low full toss around middle stump again, Samad gets low and then gets the hands swinging through cleanly to get this over the long-on boundary
17.4
1
Sharma to Shahbaz Ahmed, 1 run, slower ball at 120ks, dug in really short, Shahbaz waits on it and pulls it away to deep square leg
17.3

Sharma to Abdul Samad, 1 run, goes for the yorker on middle stump, ends up as a low full toss, Samad chips this out to long-on
17.2

Sharma to Abdul Samad, no run, wide yorker, gets underneath Samad's bat as he looks to flay it through point

Rakesh: "Even if SRH end up with 170, even that is going to be too much for the GT as they have ONLY 4 batsmen. Omarzai at 5 is batting way too high and Tewatia (a pinch hitter) is also batting 2 places too high. At No:7, Rashid is a pure tail ender who can just swing the bat and also 2 places too high... GT is good for 140-150 with this batting" --- GT will have Sai Sudharsan available as an impact sub, most likely. Also those are very harsh assessments of the abilities of Omarzai and Tewatia.

Sharma to Shahbaz Ahmed, 1 run, slower ball, on a length on middle stump, Shahbaz swats it away to deep midwicket

Soumya: "SRH can consider Sundar as sub for Abhishek or Head now. Can they have Philips as sub for Head now if a wicket falls?" --- SRH cannot use an overseas impact sub, having already had four overseas players in their starting XI.
