9:11pm 183 - It's roughly around par but are they short though? Okay, three minutes and the Kohli chat later, one thing's clear - conditions can't not be factored in. As he said, they had to hit straight and couldn't get under balls. Faf tried pretty much everything but couldn't shake it off. Kohli had a great start to the powerplay. Ashwin coming in slowed things down. He and Chahal were excellent. They used the lack of bounce well and the pace, which wasn't true all the time. The openers then consolidated for a while, put on 125. RCB promoted Maxwell and Chauhan but couldn't get much. Kohli though, was like a motivated bike rider in Bangalore traffic. Knew which gullies to go through and where to accelerate. It might not be enough but he's given them a chance.
Virat Kohli: The wicket looks different from up there when you're not playing the ball yourself. It seems flat. But when you see the ball holding up in the pitch, especially against the spinners you see pace is changing quickly. Big dimensions come into play. Our initial target was 195 but then we decided if one of me or Faf got out one had to bat till the end. We got a boost and got 185, which I feel this is an effective total. If we get the change of pace and lengths right, it will be a tough chase. I'm not coming in with premeditation. I was 12 off 10, I don't want to be over-aggressive, want to keep the bowler guessing. They want me to go hard and get me out. It's just experience and maturity. I play the conditions and have the game ready. Doesn't seem there's dew hope it's the same. Balls didn't come on to bad, felt you couldn't get under bat.
Durvank: "In days of 200s, 183 seems little short..."
Avesh has to bowl the final over.

Elsewhere, India faced Australia in hockey in preparation for the Paris Olympic games, and turned in a performance with few redeeming qualities as they lost 1-5, although there were mitigating factors.

Adeel: "Saurav Chauhan is in only for left right combination. Green and Karthik are much better hitters in the depth."
Ashwin starts the death overs.
