Alan Gardner will be back with the chase very soon.

9.23pm After smacking 22 fours and 18 sixes, KKR have posted the highest score ever at the Eden Gardens and the seventh-highest in IPL history. Not surprising that the top seven have all come this season. Tonight, it was Phil Salt and Sunil Narine who clattered the Punjab Kings bowlers to all parts with a 138-run stand in 10.2 overs. It was important for the KKR team to not lose momentum after both fell in quick succession, however the two Iyers and Russell continued to dominate. A score of 261 for 6 is massive and it could've been more had Rahul Chahar not provided some respite with a four-over spell that of 1-33. They were also poor in the field, especially early on, dropping three catching chances in the first seven overs.

Phil Salt: We know how good Sunil has been and it was pretty good to get a partnership. Don't want to give too much away with a chase still to go."
