A superb performance from Nottinghamshire as they complete the white-ball double, and having been 30 for 3 earlier on. Patel and Taylor mounted the fightback, Christian finished it off and then the varied attack always had the defence of the title under control. Outstanding control of their slower-ball variations, well captained by Dan Christian. No doubt about the limited-overs side of the season. But a word, too, for Birmingham who have shown what bringing in youth can do to a side that was struggling. A terrific overall day as well, helped by good weather and a top-class pitch. That's just about wraps things up for today. Thanks for joining us and we'll be back for the Test match on Thursday. From Alan, Gnasher and Shashank it's goodnight!

Dan Christian was left with a sore head after Nottinghamshire's NatWest Blast triumph, but not in the way he would have expected
Nottinghamshire can accommodate a specialist batsman at No. 8, and still have six bowlers of varying styles who can bowl four overs each. Those resources, along with smart plans, fetched them their first Blast title
Admitting that he has been disappointed by the selectors overlooking him, the Nottinghamshire allrounder has announced his continuing desire to play international cricket again
