END OF OVER:
50 | 6 Runs | BAN: 264/7 | RR: 5.28

  • Taskin Ahmed10 (14b)
  • Mashrafe Mortaza30 (25b)
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar10-1-53-2
  • Jasprit Bumrah10-1-39-2

1.50pm When Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim were in the middle of their century stand, it looked like Bangladesh would easily get to 300. They've only managed 264, thanks to the golden arm of Kedar Jadhav, and some tight middle- and end-overs bowling from India in general. Useful partnership of 35 between Mashrafe and Taskin, but they only went at 7 an over. Which was fine given Bangladesh's situation, but they would have loved to have preserved a couple more wickets for the slog overs. Still, a fighting total, and they have a pretty good mix of bowlers, but you'll have to fancy India to chase this down.

Anyway, Nikhil will be back at 2.45pm to bring you the start of the chase. Until then, here's a bit of news. India have picked Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant in their limited-overs squad for the upcoming tour of the West Indies.

And don't forget to watch Match Day - Rahul Dravid is on our show today.

abhishek kharwa: "India started bowling 10 minutes late and ended uo thier 50 overs before 10 minutes of stipulated time...excellent over rate.."

Sundar: "You end-over scores have been off by 5 runs for quite some time now. Since that penalty runs I think" -- It's something to do with our scoring display, and its inability to handle penalty runs. I reiterate, Bangladesh made 264, and not 259.

Kumar to Taskin Ahmed, 1 run, length ball on off stump, makes a bit of room and flat-bats to long-off

Dhoni's pulled off his right glove and stuck it into his waistband. We all know what happened when he last did that against Bangladesh...

1
Kumar to Mashrafe Mortaza, 1 run, off-stump yorker, and that's nicely played by Mashrafe. Opens his bat face and stabs it off the middle of the bat... but straight to Ashwin at backward point

Kumar to Mashrafe Mortaza, no run, makes room to try and flat-bat down the ground, only manages an inside-edge off this back-of-a-length delivery. Jams it down into the pitch, right by his feet, and picks it up and flicks it back to the bowler

Well, he's okay to continue.

What's happened here? Bhuvneshwar's hurt himself. He did a little involuntary leap as Mashrafe smashed that last ball back towards him, and in the process landed awkwardly. Looks like he might have turned his ankle.

2
Kumar to Mashrafe Mortaza, 2 runs, in the blockhole just outside off, jabbed down to long-off. The ball didn't travel too quickly, and the batsmen scurry two

Kumar to Mashrafe Mortaza, 1 wide, now, having followed Mashrafe whenever he's given himself room, he elects to bowl a slower ball, back of a length, wide of off stump. Tight call, Mashrafe leaves and the umpire signals wide

Kumar to Mashrafe Mortaza, no run, yorker on middle stump. Looks to clear his front leg and slog, gets no leverage and the ball rolls away a short distance into the leg side off the inside edge

Saravanan Sivak: "Why not have a slip for the tailenders?"

Kumar to Taskin Ahmed, 1 run, short ball at Taskin's body, pulled to deep midwicket

These two have put on 29. How much more can they add off the last six balls?

Bumrah to Taskin Ahmed, 1 run, another edge, this one only costs one run. Now Taskin clears his front leg and looks for the big swat over the leg side. He's cramped for room, though, and the ball rolls off the edge to third man

Bumrah to Mashrafe Mortaza, 1 run, backs away again, gets a thigh-high full-toss that he swats away to long-on

Bumrah to Mashrafe Mortaza, no run, another yorker, on off stump this time. Was backing away initially, and then reaches out to try and squeeze it through point. Only manages an inside-edge that rolls to the left of Dhoni
