Pakistan players gather in a huddle to plan their chase. They will be a little disappointed to allow Ireland to sneak back into the game with that partnership between John McNally and Harry Dyer, and there were a few opportunities shelled. Ireland were tottering at 60/6 at one stage and then added 121 runs to give their bowlers a chance to create panic. The start was blistering, though, as the pacers breathed fire in their opening bursts, and runs were hard to come by. However, resilience from the lower order and an inability to rip through the tail meant Ireland almost played the full 50 overs. A stellar half-century under enormous pressure from McNally would have lifted the spirits of the entire team, who will now back themselves to pick some early wickets and test Pakistan
