4.40pm An innings that appeared destined to close at around 135 ends at 162. It's all thanks to Kusal Mendis who nearly batted through the innings, overcoming pockets of struggle to fire Sri Lanka to a score they will feel very confident of defending.

Netherlands were in control for the first 10 overs, with van Meekeren impressing with his raw pace and hostility. The spinners too, Tim Pringle and van der Merwe, were thrifty but the bowling fell apart in the end with Sri Lanka blasting 102 off the last 10 overs to set up a massive chase for Netherlands.

W
van der Gugten to Mendis, OUT, top-edges this slog sweep, the ball goes miles in the air and Logan Van Beek does well the shadows lengthening at deep midwicket to take this steepler. The ball was swirling in the air for a bit but he kept his eye on the ball right till the very end to complete the catch. End of a superb innings.

Klaassen to Shanaka, OUT, straight down to long-on where Ackermann slightly misjudged it but held his composure to run a couple of steps back to the rope and take the catch sideways, seemingly mindful of the ropes behind.

Klaassen to Mendis, SIX, length again, punished again! He needs to learn quickly here. Kusal clears his front leg and nails this pull over deep midwicket this time. He was hitting to a big parr of the rope but if you struck it as hard as he did, it doesn't matter. Sri Lanka raise their 150

Klaassen to Mendis, SIX, oh dear, short and gets punished! Another delivery that sits up, Kusal has enough time to set himself up and hammers this pull as he sat back and pulled it away. Outstanding hit.

de Leede to Rajapaksa, OUT, shovelled straight to long-on! Hit well but down the throat of the fielder. de Leede may have just for a moment wondered if that full toss may be put away but Bhanuka was in trouble the moment he hit it towards long-on because that's the longest part of the boundary.
