Sujesh: "As is often the case when 2 matches happen simultaneously, the final scores and the scoring patterns have been the same. WI scored 146/5 while in the WBBL Adelaide Strikers have scored 142/6. "
Ranjan Dhakal: ""Now I am smelling this super 12 world cup without west indies, I am wrong or the smell is wrong. What scents now I am getting ?" You may have to consult The Rock.
For Ireland, Delany's courageous bowling was rewarded. Adair was smart, Little and McCarthy were economical. The pitch was even-paced and offered decent bounce. They mixed up lengths and pace well. Apart from Campher, everyone went well.
From the start, West Indies threatened to go big but couldn't. They lost Mayers early, then Charles looked to consolidate. When he got out, Lewis and then Pooran tried to push the scoring along but couldn't do it substantially. King anchored the innings throughout, but could not accelerate at the end. Odean Smith swung hard but could not connect as often as he would have liked.
4:42pm: West Indies stumble their way to 146, Delany was brilliant for Ireland. Looks under par but still, a defendable score on the board. Odean Smith says they are indeed under par but like in the last game, are looking to back themselves to defend it.
