9.17 pm A stop-start innings - first halted by power outage and then by rain - comes to an end after what seems like an age. But Patriots will be mighty amused with the score they have. Gayle, the supreme ball-striking machine, absolutely flattened the Knight Riders attack with a brazen and brutal 93. Let me add to that - 93 that included five fours and eight sixes. And all that in a 13-over game, which makes for an average of one boundary per over for Gayle alone. The last four overs have yielded 67 runs. It's pretty hard gripping the ball with the rain and moisture present, so don't be surprised if you see more full tosses in the chase. But it's still going to take a heck of a batting performance to run this down. The roller is being used on the surface. The target has been revised as per the DLS method. Knight Riders need 169 to win this. Don't go anywhere. Sreshth will be back with you real quick for the second innings. No more from me for this game.

Beaton to Brooks, OUT, great last ball. Beats him with a yorker outside off. They try to steal a bye but the keeper throw the ball to the bowler who gathers it and under-arms it to the stumps at the non-striker's end

Beaton to Brathwaite, 1 run, full outside off, driven extremely hard but straight to extra cover

Carlos Brathwaite. Just two balls remaining, but half of his World T20 last-over heroics will be great for Patriots here.

Beaton to Gayle, OUT, in the air and caught. But is that a no-ball? The umpires are getting together and it seems like they have deemed it fine. That's a third successive full toss and Gayle looked to heave it. Doesn't come at as comfortable a height and he holes out to cow corner as a result. That's touch and go on the height but a fair call in the end, I suppose. A centimeter high and it would have been no-balled. They check the front foot as well but it's well inside. Gayle walks off to a rousing ovation. What an innings this has been! Unbelievable hitting

DJ Bravo to Brooks, SIX, shot. Skips down the track to this slower ball and the only thing that saved him here is the angle. Pushed across so he finds the room he wants. Swings hard and dispatches it just over the fielder leaping at long-on
