Former Tallawahs coach Paul Nixon was a big fan of Oshane Thomas' potential. Didn't get many opportunities last year stuck behind Kesrick Williams and Mohammad Sami but the 21-year-old showed his impressive pace tonight getting 3 wickets, beginning with the hexed Warner and then coming back later with Sammy & McClenaghan late in the innings to dim Stars' momentum. Stars made two 170 totals last year v Tallawahs and couldn't win. They've used 7-8 bowlers each game so far and are playing an extra specialist bowler tonight in McCoy. Will take something special to stop the Stars winless streak at 13, especially knowing that Tallawahs just completed the highest ever CPL chase against the defending CPL champion Knight Riders.

7.40pm St Lucia started poorly, then cruised, then lost their way and have now finished with a flourish. That said, Tallawahs will still feel confident of chasing this down. Good pitch, decent bounce, short square boundaries and a power house of a batting line-up. The pressure will be on Stars, as they're on a 13-match losing streak. Join us in 10 minutes for the reply.

Russell to Williams, 1 run, OUT, pulled to the man coming in from long-on, he fires a simple throw to the keeper's end to effect a run-out as the batsmen attempted a second that was never on.

KOK Williams run out 2 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

"Boundary rider at cow corner was cheating in trying to cut off a second run after the lackadaisical effort by Taylor in the circle two balls earlier, paid for it on that very flat 6 struck by Hodge. If he was on the rope it's a head-high catch. Out next ball, but we'll see if that winds up costing them in the chase."

W
Russell to Hodge, OUT, flat-bats this slower delivery to Imad, who takes an excellent catch diving forward at long-off. Didn't have pace on this, so couldn't generate power. Hodge has played a little gem nonetheless.

Santokie to Qais Ahmad, SIX, what a big hit, sure enough to wake people up in Kabul. Takes pace off and lands this at length, Qais clears his front leg, makes room and wallops this to clear deep midwicket

Third man Peter Della Penna: "In 22 batting innings in ODIs/T20Is for New Zealand, McClenaghan only batted higher than 10 twice, both times at No. 9. He got off the mark with that ramp/scoop for 6 off a full toss in his last innings for the Stars, but may have been a one-off based on the way he whiffed trying it again just now. Batting at No. 7 shows how thin the Stars batting depth is, especially considering how someone is continuing to successfully stick pin pricks in a David Warner voodoo doll."
