I dare you to tell me you didn't enjoy this game! The bowlers dominated for the most part, but when the fireworks came, they came aplenty. Tim David and a bit of Roston Chase in the first innings. And Tim Seifert late late in the second innings. In between, excellent bowling from Alzarri Joseph, Chase, Wahab Riaz, Jayden Seales and Akeal Hosein. A game to remember. The Kings are now on the points table while the defending champions suffer their second defeat. This season is turning out to be a humdinger. See you later in the day for the second game of Super Sunday. On behalf of Shashank Kishore and Ranjith P, this is Sreshth Shah saying thank you for joining us. Ciao!
Stat alert: Trinbago Knight Riders lost to a St Lucia franchise for the first time since June 2016. They went 11 consecutive matches (10 wins) without a defeat against Zouks/Stars.
Losing captain Pollard: "We gave 15 runs too much, but we can't fault our bowlers. They have bowled well this season. Some issues with the batting. 61 dots are not a big problem because you rather get dots than get out. Munro was alright, he dug in there and Seifert nearly got us over the line.
Winning captain du Plessis: "It's a crazy game but we love it. That's what pressure does (on Keemo's over). We thought about Wahab's experience bowling the second-last over but we were worried about the short boundary from that end. The nature of this pitch is that you always have to bat deep. It's not a 180 wicket. You need to drag it late. And our spinners squeezed it well."
Sumanto: "The Knight Riders always bat their power hitter late, Russell in IPL and Seifert in CPL. What a pity, Seifert deserved the glory today!"
1.41pm Amazing sportsmanship. The Kings fielders run up to Seifert to congratulate him on a valiant effort even before they start celebrating. They are very aware that they were just one or two balls away from losing this game that they had total control of before he walked in. Applause for Seifert from the Knight Riders as he leads the batters out. Throws the gloves away in frustration because he knows he brought them so close to the win. Seifert finishes with a 16-ball 40. But there will be question marks over how Colin Munro played today. Agreed the pitch was tricky, but a 47-ball 40 will definitely bring criticism along with it.
But the chase was made difficult by Chase, who bowled 1 for 17 in his four and hit a 24-ball 30. He's also the Player of the Match. "We were nervous, but Wahab did well. Batting first, I tried giving David the strike and it worked out. The first win of the tournament is always very special."
It's all happening! Six to win, which Seifert can very well do. Massive ball. Wahab is experienced...
Seven needed off two. A two and four means we'll have a Super Over.
Sohail Ahmad : "Can last match zero Wahab become hero tonight? Million dollar question "
Varshith : "This has been a phenomenal innings by Seifert... When even set batters struggled he just came in and smashed.. Take a bow man "
Saad Kutesra : "Bad Captaincy by Faf... He didn't gave full quota of Wahab Riyaz"
Momentum with the Knight Riders. Seifert has brought this game alive. But Munro is on strike. Wahab bowling. 14 to win.
