Right, I'm off to dash off the report, so watch out for that. Fairly staid game, this no way to dress it up. But at least TKR look good for the business end of this tournament

11.34am A terrific bowling display from the Knight Riders on an extremely challenging pitch. They've restricted the Royals to under 100. Their two left-arm spinners, Akeal Hosein and Khary Pierre, were close to unplayable, and they finished with combined figures of 5 for 29 off their eight overs. Two wickets each to Sunil Narine and the excellent Jayden Seales, who got the ball to trampoline off this pitch at will. Can the Royals bowlers make this a tricky chase and somehow keep themselves in contention for the knockouts? We'll find out soon, when Danyal takes over the commentary.

Seales to Bishop, 1 run, down the track and he gets close to the pitch of this outside-off-stump ball. Drives towards deep point, and the innings ends with a single

Johnny: "This kind of thing drives me crazy. Lintott takes 5 dots and is clearly struggling. As the 6th ball approaches, I thought to myself: "Surely they won't take a single, so they can get him OFF strike". Next ball. Single. I mean. What in the world are they thinking?"

Seales to Bishop, no run, back to back of a length, the legcutter once more, and it straightens with extra bounce to beat the attempted pull
19.4
4
Seales to Bishop, FOUR, full outside off, and Bishop slices it away with an open face to beat deep point to his left

Somehow they've gotten Joshua Bishop back on strike.

W
Seales to Lintott, OUT, fullish outside off, and that's a superb catch at mid-off! Looks to drive on the up, ends up hitting it off the high part of the bat thanks to Seales' extra bounce, and he lifts it over mid-off, from where Tion Webster turns around, runs a few yards towards the boundary, and catches it on the juggle with the ball coming to him over his shoulder

Seales to Lintott, no run, another legcutter, this time just back of a length and on pace, bouncing over the stumps after Lintott misses an across-the-line swipe

Seales to Lintott, no run, back of a length, slower legcutter outside off. Lintott shapes to pull, doesn't really go through with it, and doesn't get close to making any contact

Seales to finish the innings.

Terrific 19th over, just the one single from it. And Bishop remains off strike for the final over.

1
Rampaul to Lintott, 1 run, there's that inswinging yorker, tailing in towards leg stump. Makes room and chops down to squeeze it into the backward point region
18.5
0
Rampaul to Lintott, no run, looks to make room and swipe into the leg side, misses a shortish slower ball
18.4
0
Rampaul to Lintott, no run, full-toss veering into the stumps, whipped to short midwicket, who dives left to stop it
18.3
0
Rampaul to Lintott, no run, ooh, bounces over off stump again. Looks to make room and slog, and plays too early across a slower ball. It's a legcutter actually, pitching on a good length and straightening past the bat
18.2
0
Rampaul to Lintott, no run, sees Lintott stepping out and making room and sends down a quick, inswinging yorker that follows the batter. Jams his bat down and squeezes it back to the bowler
18.1
0
Rampaul to Lintott, no run, slower ball, bounces over the stumps as Lintott steps across, looks to scoop to fine leg, and misses

Two overs to go. Can the Royals get into three figures?

Peter C: "You have to have only six letters in your surname to take a wicket, and only seven letters in your surname to take a catch" -- Haha, well spotted!

Narine to Bishop, SIX, shot! Narine floats one across to pitch outside off, and that allows Bishop to free his arms, and slog-sweep firmly over the square midwicket boundary
17.5
1
Narine to Lintott, 1 run, length ball slanting across towards off stump, presses forward and defends with soft hands to the left of backward point

Jake Lintott.

W
Narine to Azam Khan, OUT, through him! Looks to flick, and ends up playing all around a quick ball on an almost yorker length, pitching just outside leg and going with the angle to crash into the stumps. Wide backlift suggests he was shaping to sweep, and Narine saw that and slipped in the quick, full ball

Narine to Azam Khan, FOUR, angles it across again, and Azam was probably expecting it. Gets down quickly for the reverse-sweep, and even though it miscues it, he gets it into a gap, over the top of slip's head

Narine to Bishop, 1 run, length ball sliding across towards the stumps. Clears his front leg and sweeps to the left of long leg
17.1

Narine to Bishop, no run, back of a length, keeps going with the angle across the right-hander. Looks to dab it fine, and Simmons dives right at slip to stop it

Narine. Around the wicket with a slip in place.

Rampaul to Azam Khan, FOUR, what a shot. Length ball on or around off stump, and he gets down on one knee and sweeps it with a topspin finish. Over the square leg umpire, and it nearly carries all the way for six
