7:15 pm That's it from us tonight. For Shashank Kishore, I'm Peter Della Penna. Come back and join us on Thursday night for the semi-final qualifier between Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Tridents from Brian Lara Academy Stadium at 7 pm local time. The winner goes on to Saturday's final against Guyana. Until Thursday, take care!
Tridents captain Jason Holder on King's innings: "You must give him credit. I thought he played an outstanding innings. Even the balls he mishit still went for six. It was just his day. I think we were outplayed by him. It was an outstanding knock. We must give him credit. We're still disappointed not to get over the line but having said that chasing 220-odd to get 190 is a great effort from our batters. Our bowling wasn't as good as it should have been today but you still have to give Brandon King credit."
Amazon Warriors captain Shoaib Malik on the undefeated run: "From the first six batters I think if we look at all the games, one was scoring 50-plus runs. That was one of the keys and the second element was our spinners. We started almost every game with spinners and they continuously are taking wickets. These two are the key points being so successful so far in the tournament. I always say one thing before any presentation, if you start thinking about going into a bigger game then you add extra pressure on you. Since we have so many youngsters, my message is still the same. When you come to the ground, whatever responsibilities you get, just try to handle them not thinking about how this is a final because then you're brain is only working towards a trophy. There is a long process before that so just stick to what you know best. I've batted with such great players and batting with [King], some of the sixes, I've never seen any batsman hitting the way he was hitting."
Brandon King is the Player of the Match for his century: "I'm extremely happy. I've been trying to find a way to score runs in Guyana throughout the tournament and I'm just really happy that it came in such an important game and I'm grateful. I just try to score runs every time I go out there. Consistency is key. The coaches really put a lot of faith in me and they give me really good advice and I just try to go out there and perform every time. It's key that you know your strengths and weaknesses and have the discipline to wait for your strengths to come into the game. I just tried to stick to my strengths and you'll end up with runs."
6:55 pm The Warriors incredible win streak now stands at 11 after Brandon King's century set up a memorable romp. They'll head to Saturday's final now and await the winner of the de facto semi-final on Thursday at Brian Lara Stadium between the Tridents, who get a second crack at going to the final, and Trinidad Knight Riders who defeated the Patriots in today's eliminator.
