10.18 pm That's all folks. Match abandoned. Captains have shaken hands with the umpires. The rain hasn't stopped. Patriots get their first point of CPL 2022 though.
That's all for tonight's coverage. Come back tomorrow for another CPL doubleheader. Take care!
9.35 pm Or will the match start at 9.45 pm? Just after the toss was conducted, it has started pelting down rain again. The covers have been rushed back onto the field.
9.30 pm Good news! The rain has stopped again. We're going to have a 12-over match. Patriots have won the toss and chosen to bowl first. Match will start at 9.45 pm local time.
Patriots XI: 1 Andre Fletcher (wk), 2 Evin Lewis, 3 Darren Bravo, 4 Dewald Brevis, 5 Sherfane Rutherford, 6 Dwaine Pretorius, 7 Dwayne Bravo (capt.), 8 Duan Jansen, 9 Sheldon Cottrell, 10 Jeremiah Louis, 11 Akila Dananjaya.
So Evin Lewis returns after missing the last match due to injury. Joshua Da Silva is left out. Jeremiah Louis is also making his 2022 CPL debut.
Knight Riders XI: 1 Sunil Narine, 2 Tion Webster, 3 Nicholas Pooran, 4 Tim Seifert (wk), 5 Andre Russell, 6 Kieron Pollard (capt.), 7 Seekkuge Prasanna, 8 Terrence Hinds, 9 Khary Pierre, 10 Anderson Phillip, 11 Ravi Rampaul.
9.15 Bad news. Just when it looked like we might be very close to a coin toss and a start, the rain has returned.
9.10 pm The rain has stopped. The covers are being peeled off. The umpires are out in the middle. But still no word on how far away a start might be for a reduced overs match.
8.20 pm Rain still coming down. Overs are now going to be shaved off the match, if we get a match at all.
7.00 pm Bad news. The Women's CPL match has ended, but the rain has returned. Covers are being rushed back out onto the outfield. The match needs to start by 8.09 pm local time or else overs will start to be reduced.
11.45 pm This match is definitely going to have a delayed start. The Women's CPL match preceding it is going down to the wire. 11 runs off 12 balls needed for Barbados Royals Women to win and clinch a spot in the Women's CPL Final.
6.30 pm Hello and welcome back to tonight's coverage of the 2022 CPL as the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots take on Trinbago Knight Riders. The defending champion Patriots are still in search of their first win of the 2022 campaign after losing back-to-back matches heavily on the first two nights of the season at Warner Park.
We are going to be in for a delayed toss at the very least, and perhaps a delayed start too, because of rain delays that pushed back the progress of the Women's CPL match still ongoing between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Barbados Royals to see who will advance to face the Trinbago Knight Riders Women in the inaugural Women's CPL Final.
