10.56 pm Well, there were a lot of people scratching their heads at the toss when Shimron Hetmyer decided to field first. Nothing much that happened in the course of this match changed that sentiment. But the Amazon Warriors didn't do themselves any favors with some terribly sloppy fielding, most notably an edge behind dropped when centurion Shamarh Brooks was on 5. It means the perennial bridesmaids Amazon Warriors don't even get to the final this year. Instead it will be the Tallawahs and Royals going for the title two nights from now.
Shamarh Brooks is the Player of the Match: "My second year with the franchise. Coming in last year as a replacement and Jamaica gave me a chance to show my skills in this format. I love this franchise. I'm just happy that we're in the final. There's one more hurdle for us to cross but I'm just enjoying the year, taking it stride by stride. I'm happy to be playing against a franchise that I played with before. I have a few friends in the team and am looking forward to it. I'm very happy with the team's performance. They had to come hard at us but we stuck to the plan. Amir had a groin injury but other guys stepped up."
That's it for tonight's coverage. Come back on Friday for the 2022 CPL Final between the Tallawahs and the Royals. Until then, I'm Peter Della Penna. Take care!
