7:42pm A stop-start innings that threatened to spark into life at times, but quickly fizzled out after promising moments. They did not lose any wickets in the powerplay but lost their way after it, with Bates and Kerr departing relatively close to each other. Plimmer could also not make her start count, and Halliday, who looked very good for her 18, was dismissed before the death-overs dawned. Devine's wicket in the 16th truly pushed them back, and NZ, given those flurry of wickets, will be content that they could scrap their way to 128, largely helped by Gaze's unbeaten 20.

As for the West Indies, the night belonged to the World Boss. She popped up with a four-wicket haul, including the scalps of Kerr, Devine and Halliday. Fletcher was not shabby either, with Alleyne and Ramharack also among the wickets. Given the firepower at their disposal, they will feel they have this covered, but NZ have runs on the board and in a semi-final, the importance of that factor cannot be overstated enough. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Suzie Bates: The wicket was holding a little bit so we did not get our timing right. That innings (by Gaze) to get us over the 120-mark is crucial and anything can happen with this West Indies side. We have to keep taking wickets. Good for us that there is enough in the wicket to bowl the West Indies out. It is never nice (on seeing Henry leave the field injured). Sometimes when that happens, cricket takes a back seat. Best wishes to her. (Confident about the score) You have got to be. On this wicket, anything is defendable and in semi-final cricket, anything can happen.

Alleyne to Gaze, 1 run, excellent yorker on leg stump. Gaze squeezes it out towards mid on and there is no chance of a second. Not to Dottin. Not to Dottin in the kind of mood she is in tonight. New Zealand finish with 128!

Gaze to face the last ball. Can she find the fence? Jonas is at the other end, for what it is worth

Alleyne to Carson, OUT, Carson has been run out first ball, but she gets Gaze back on strike! Low full toss just outside leg. Carson has a pop at it but miscues it terribly. The ball bobbles towards the bowler and that is the cue for Gaze to hare down. Carson is happy to sacrifice her wicket, and NZ are nine down!

Alleyne to Tahuhu, OUT, goes high up, and taken on the second attempt by Qiana Joseph! Slanted across on a full length on off. Tahuhu has a mighty swipe at it but cuts across it too much. Joseph settles under it at extra cover and very nearly makes a meal of it. To her credit, she keeps her eyes on it all the way and is alert enough to snap up the rebound!

Alleyne to Tahuhu, no run, fullish on middle and leg. Tahuhu backs away and swings for the hills. Cloths it off the bottom of the bat and Alleyne fields it well enough on her follow-through

1
Alleyne to Gaze, 1 run, angled across outside off. Gaze advances, trying to go over mid off but can only toe-end it towards the fielder in the ring

Long on comes up. Alleyne goes around the wicket

Alleyne to Gaze, FOUR, the scoop is out again, and Gaze gets the output she is after! Low full toss, drifting down leg. Gaze gets well inside the line and tickles it fine past the keeper!

West Indies are five minutes behind on the over-rate and the penalty has been imposed. They can now have only three fielders outside the ring. Alleyne to bowl. Can NZ get up to 130?

Dottin to Tahuhu, 2 runs, right in the blockhole on the stumps. Tahuhu bunts it towards long on and that has just enough pace on it to allow Gaze to glide back for the second

3
Dottin to Gaze, 3 runs, just over! Full and wide outside off. Gaze slinks down the track and slices it over extra cover. Joseph chases after it and throws it to Dottin at the bowler's end, who makes a rather lazy attempt to catch the ball and ends up conceding the third

1
Dottin to Tahuhu, 1 run, back of a length just outside off. Tahuhu winds up and tugs it towards deep mid wicket. No pace to work with again, and no timing on it

1
Dottin to Gaze, 1 run, off-pace again, on a length on middle and off. Gaze clears her front leg and heaves it towards deep mid wicket. Tahuhu was intent on the second but it was just not on
18.2
1
Dottin to Tahuhu, 1 run, back of a length on off. Tahuhu gives herself room and punches it back at Dottin, who gets her right hand to it and nearly deflects it onto the stumps. Had she done so, Gaze would have been out...

1
Dottin to Gaze, 1 run, slower ball on a fullish length outside off. Gaze advances, reaches out for it and slaps it on the bounce to long on

Dottin to bowl the penultimate over. Can she pick up a five-wicket haul?

Alleyne to Gaze, no run, back of a length on middle and off. Gaze looks for the scoop again but this time, is a touch late on it. Pings her on the glove and rolls towards the keeper

Alleyne to Gaze, FOUR, cleverly done, and that is a vital boundary for New Zealand! Back of a length outside off. Gaze knows that line is coming and shimmies across. Gets into position for the lap and helps it away past short fine leg!

Dottin to Mair, OUT, huge appeal from Dottin, but the umpire is unmoved! Slower ball on a full length on middle and leg. Mair is all at sea, with respect to picking the variation and seems to play too early. Gets rapped on the pads and while that seemed to be heading down leg, West Indies want to chance their luck with this. Ohhhhh...this looks a lot closer than it first seemed. Impact is on the back leg and there is no bat involved. Three reds on Ball Tracking and Mair is outta here! Dottin has four, and NZ are sinking fast!
