cricky: "what a comeback by Islamabad united.. but huge applause to asif and iftikhar who achieved a herculean task. learned their lessons and played sensibly. iftikhar deserved his 50 . but never say die. i believe Islamabad can defend this ." --- Belief is a good thing too.

AbdullahCheema: "@Adeel: If they were hitting rashid easily things would have probably been much worse against hafeez or Tim."

6.55pm That's it from the first innings. An excellent comeback by United after being 20 for 5 at one stage. Ifthikar and Asif set about repairing things, and added 123 in just over 12 overs. Faulkner and Shaheen started wonderfully for Qalandars, but Rashid - for a change - was taken to the cleaners by the set pair, who've given their bowlers a good enough total to defend on a slow track.

Haris Rauf to Mohammad Wasim, 2 runs, lofted over mid-off, with Rashid brought into the circle. This was full on off again, and he went for the loft to clear the fielder. But Rashid runs back and collects it to his left

Haris runs in but backs out last moment

Musa the new man, but the non-striker

Haris Rauf to Iftikhar Ahmed, OUT, taken at long-off by Rashid. Ifthikar went for the slice to this full ball just outside off, and had his front leg cleared. But he could only send that up to long-off, where Rashid settles under it well after the misfield previous ball. Ifthikar gone for 49

2
Haris Rauf to Iftikhar Ahmed, 2 runs, slower ball, full on off. Drilled to the left of the bowler to long-off, as Rashid Khan misfields and allows an extra run

Adeel : "Disappointed with Sohail Akhtar's Captaincy. Has let the match slip away by not trying Hafiz or Tim David for breaking the partnership "

Haris Rauf to Iftikhar Ahmed, 1 wide, shorter and wider outside off, and moving away. Called a wide
19.3
1b
Haris Rauf to Mohammad Wasim, 1 bye, run-out at the non-striker's end? Nope. It was a short ball outside off, and the batter's attempted ramp didn't pay off due to the extra bounce. He's late to respond for a single, but is safe
19.2

Haris Rauf to Mohammad Wasim, no run, short ball outside off, and he goes for the pull by clearing his front leg. Misses it completely though while playing from his crease
19.1
1lb
Haris Rauf to Iftikhar Ahmed, 1 leg bye, yorker on middle that seemed to have hit his back boot. Appeal for lbw, not given and Qalandars review. The ball pitched very full on middle and leg, and was angling in further as Ifthikar tried to dig that out. No bat involved, as confirmed by the replays. That's umpire's call on wickets, and the on-field decision stays.

Can United get to 160? Here's Haris for the final over.

Ahsan Butt: "There was never a doubt about Asif's ability to play such an inning. The problem has been his lack of consistency. I hope this inning gives him the much-needed confidence!"

W
Shaheen Shah Afridi to Asif Ali, OUT, he's hit-wicket there! Rocks on to his back foot and goes deep in his crease while expecting thr yorker. But just as he completes his shot as the ball hits his body instead, his right pad clips the stumps. Not an ideal end to a brilliant innings. He's shifted all the momentum here.

Asif Ali hit wicket b Shaheen Shah Afridi 75 (43b 6x4 5x6) SR: 174.41

Jassia Zafar: "Playing an innings like this, specially when your team is 5 wickets down in the PP, is extremely superb. Both (Asif Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed) deserve an applause "

1
Shaheen Shah Afridi to Iftikhar Ahmed, 1 run, full on off, he backs away a little and clears his front leg to push that to deep square leg

And the play is stopped as Asif gets a massage on his left shoulder from the physio. Maybe he's tweaked it while going after one of his heaves, as this is the highest sixth-wicket partnership in PSL history now.

Ab Awan: "Its first time for me when i see Rashid Khan wicketless.Feeling sad for Rashid"

Shaheen Shah Afridi to Asif Ali, SIX, clobbered over long-on. That's his highest score in PSL too. Slower ball and fuller just outside off, clears his front leg to swing it far and clean

Sheikh: "Why to save shaheen's remaining over for last ? Utilize your best bowler when it needed the most. When both batters are trying to set. Now they both are already set " --- And here's Shaheen from around the wicket, as you say so.
