Quetta Gladiators are gathered in a huddle near the boundary skirtings. Run-chase in a few moments now

shahid khan: "Both teams have exercised their weak zones... QG won... now its turn for strengths of both teams, batting of Zalmi and bowling of Gladiators"

9.20 PM: Right, Quetta Gladiators have got a hefty total on the board and it will take some chasing from the Peshawar Zalmi batting line-up. Shoaib Malik's men managed to pull things back in the last five overs where they leaked just 35 and scalped four preys. But the magnificent launching pad provided by the Gladiators openers (Ahsan Ali 73, Will Smeed 97) means they are on top at the halfway stage. We'll be back in a jiffy with what promises to be a mouthwatering run-chase, stay tuned.

Sameen Gul to Smeed, OUT, Caught at deep midwicket! He won't get his hundred as Pat Brown does exceptionally well to scamper around, get hold of it, and then tiptoe his way back inside the rope. Smeed would feel he's missed out there as it was a low full-toss that could have been anywhere deposited in the leg-side. Nevertheless, that brings to an end a cracking innings from the 20-year who finishes just three short of becoming the first ever Englishman to register a PSL hundred.

WCF Smeed c Brown b Sameen Gul 97 (62b 11x4 4x6) SR: 156.45

Right, one ball to go and Smeed on strike

Sameen Gul to Iftikhar Ahmed, OUT, Taken at deep square leg. Serves up a juicy full-toss, Iftikhar shuffles across and clubs it high in the night sky, decent elevation on it but hasn't got the distance on it. Safely gobbled by the fielder down there. Hang on, we're going upstairs again. Nothing wrong with the front-foot but it's tight on the waist-height, you'd think. Third umpire reckons it has dipped enough to be adjudged out.

Iftikhar Ahmed c Brown b Sameen Gul 8 (8b 1x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

Sameen to bowl the last. Smeed still stranded on 92*

Sohail Khan to Smeed, 1 no ball, Is that too high? Looks for the yorker again but gets the length wrong this time as it thuds high on Smeed's bat who can only balloon it behind the keeper's throat. We're going upstairs to recheck this. Replays show that it's clearly above waist-height and that will be a free-hit, too!
