Back in June, the Florida Panthers successfully defended their Stanley Cup as they bested the Edmonton Oilers for the second straight year. However, as of November, the Colorado Avalanche have taken over the top spot on the odds board, with the Carolina Hurricanes, Vegas Golden Knights and Tampa Bay Lightning right behind. The Avalanche are also at the top of the Presidents' Trophy odds.
The Washington Capitals are fifth in odds to win the Eastern Conference and much is thanks to Logan Thompson, the fifth-ranked player in ESPN Fantasy hockey. The New Jersey Devils are +700 to win the Eastern Conference and +350 to win the division, second behind the Hurricanes, and sit sixth in the NHL weekly Power Rankings.
Elsewhere on the board, the Toronto Maple Leafs are 25-1 to snap their Cup drought (opened 16-1), the New York Rangers are 30-1 (opened 30-1), and the Boston Bruins sit at 150-1 after opening the regular season at 100-1.
